Nice little outdoor eating area with picnic tables, but it’s mostly for take-away. The shrimp are perfectly breaded with a light, fluffy breading that’s almost pillowy. Ribs are on point and not sauced (not sure if there is a sauced option). The ribs are perfectly cooked and a little tug removes them from the bone. Great place. I’ll be back.

$47 and 35 minutes later, completely disappointed. No seasoning & for me to say that of Caucasian coloring is something, definitely no salt. The potato salad was flavored with dill some ppl may like it but not for us. The only thing good was the chicken nuggets I mean how could you go wrong on those with fries. Not sure how they are still around. The lady said if we were patient she would’ve got us our sauces, how are we not patient after 35 minutes of waiting. Oh don’t let me forget how they came 10 minutes after ordering to say they had no ribs. Most important thing NO MAC and CHEESE! SAD!!!!!!

We will not be returning, but this review is necessary so others know what they’re walking into.

My husband regularly came here on Sundays to pick up our dinner. We always called our order in and were told it would be ready in 20–30 minutes. On more than one occasion, he arrived 45 minutes to an hour later, and the food was still not ready.

The second time this happened, my husband calmly addressed it — which he had every right to do. Instead of professionalism, the owner’s son became rude and hostile, saying he was “sick and tired of the complaints” and that they “don’t want our business.”

That response alone says everything.

This is not a one-time issue. The owner allows his children to speak to customers any kind of way. This same disrespect has happened to a female friend of my husband, who was spoken to crazily by the owner’s daughter. The owner does nothing to correct it, which means he clearly finds it acceptable.

And this right here is exactly why it is so hard to support a Black-owned business when the food is overpriced and the attitude is disrespectful. Supporting Black-owned businesses should not mean accepting poor treatment. Being Black-owned does not excuse bad service, rude behavior, or unprofessional attitudes.

Let’s be very clear: good food alone does not keep customers. Customer service keeps people coming back. Disrespectful attitudes, excuses, and overpriced food will run people off every single time.

Keep speaking to people disrespectfully, and eventually you will speak to the wrong person instead of the right one. Hopefully, this review reaches the right people and opens some eyes before that happens.

The food may be decent, but the customer service is terrible, and until that changes, this business will continue to lose customers.

Train your staff. Correct your children. Do better.

I’m new to the area and have been looking for a good rib spot. I’ve passed this place several times and decided to try them today. The menu is mostly takeout and they do have an outdoor, open eating area to enjoy your food. As for the menu, they have a lot of your typical BBQ joint offerings…..Many options are available from seafood, baked/grilled chicken, liver&onions, sandwiches, to of course BBQ and sides ….and desserts.

On this day, I tried the Rib Tips as a first test. You can always tell if a rib joint is going to be legit– hitting or not, by how well they can cook rib tips due to the small cuts of the meat and need to keep them moist. Also, the rib tips needs to have the right meat to fat ratio on the bones in order to cook them right and for them to be juicy and tender. Only the skilled BBQ Masters know how to pull this off and you will know by first bite.

For starters, you order from an obscure window, where you can barely see inside or even see who you are even talking to. Next, after placing the order, this is the part that actually gets a deduction of stars for me which is the wait time. For just a simple order of rib tips only, I waited over 20 minutes! There were others that were waiting just as long and I can tell by the looks on their faces the they were not happy about it. lol

Finally, my order was called. I dug in immediately at one of the outside tables because I was starving and I must say I wasn’t that impressed. The Rib Tips were just okay….nothing to rave about. They were a bit on the chewy side and overcooked. Also, although the smoke ring on the meat was evident….it was lacking flavor. It came with bbq sauce on the side which helped make it somewhat appetizing. On a positive note, they served healthy portions of the meat….no complaints there.

Perhaps I will try this place one more time as to maybe I came on bad day (Friday afternoon around 3pm)….which is still not an excuse for lackluster food. Also not sure about the timing of when you need to come here, but I will say it gets crowded really fast, which is probably even worse on the weekends. Just be prepared to wait.

In all, I will give this place 3 1/2 stars at best. Hopefully this sentiment will change, maybe on the next visit. And that’s a strong “maybe!”

My quest for a solid Rib & Soulfood joint continues. 🙂

The smoky aroma definitely pulls you in. I ordered a 1/2 pound of brisket and a whiting dinner. The wait time was about 15–20 minutes, which wasn’t bad at all.

The brisket had a beautiful char. Brisket is naturally a fatty cut, but the pieces I received weren’t trimmed or skimmed, and both were extremely oily. The flavor was there, and just a touch more salt would’ve brought it full circle, but I couldn’t really enjoy it because it was literally drowning in oil.

The whiting portion was decent, but it lacked seasoning. I also have to agree with other reviews—the sides are on the small side. They come in 5.5-ounce Solo portion cups. The mac and cheese was decent, though a pinch of salt would’ve elevated it. The potato salad, on the other hand, was very pepper-heavy—yellow, red, and green peppers dominated the flavor. I could taste the sweet relish, but the peppers overpowered everything. There also seemed to be a hint of something like Italian seasoning.

I spent around $23 for everything. Overall, I’d give this place one more try—maybe with a different menu selection. There’s potential here, just a few things that could use tweaking.

The service was amazing, once my food was done they called my number and brought my food directly to my car. The fish was fried perfectly and tasty. The Mac n cheese was also great and I dont say that lightly. Would definitely come back to support.

I waited so long to try the smokes ribs. I was disappointed. No bad review at all. To me the ribs tip wet season was to much for me, could not eat them. It tasted like I was eating lighter fluid. The whole ribs the family liked them better. The French fried we under cooked and soggy. I was told they were the best in Clinton area. I drove 1 hr to be disappointed.

I don’t know why my phone won’t allow me to share the very measly portions of food that they call a “meal” that cost darn near $20.00

2 little measly pieces of meat.
A small plastic container of potato salad and the same size greens.
I was so disappointed. All I could do was “say ok. I poured into a black business, but never again”.
It was brisket. Or was supposed to be. The portion was so small it was hard to enjoy because of disappointment .
