First visit—and definitely not the last! We’re so glad we gave this Mexican spot a try. The food was delicious, and the service was warm and welcoming. If you’re craving authentic Mexican flavors at great prices, this no-frills, family-run restaurant is the place to go.
The owner was very friendly and shared that she took over about six months ago but kept the same menu, staff, and cozy atmosphere. She also mentioned they recently added a breakfast burrito that’s become a hit—perfect for a quick brunch while running errands. The dessert options looked amazing, though we didn’t try them this time.
What we ordered:
• I had the caldo de res soup, served with five small tortillas, dried chilies, fresh cilantro, and onions. The broth was flavorful, and the meat was tender—such a comforting dish for a chilly day.
• My husband went for the Rancheros burrito (steak and jalapeños) topped with queso sauce. It came out piping hot, and he loved it! The jalapeños had a marinated kick that added extra depth.
• We also tried two jalapeño and cheese tamales. Portions were generous, and we even saved one tamale and the tortillas for another small meal at home.
We noticed several other guests ordering menudo, so that’s definitely on our list for next time!

I love the Food and the service is excellent!!! You walk in the door and you are greeted. If you need any assistance the staff is more then willing to help. The food looks good and taste even better!!! And it’s always clean.So if you are in Cedar Rapids and want great food stop by they would love to see you.

Cedar Rapids best kept secret is El Super Burrito. When my brother comes back from out of town this is always always always the first stop right from the airport. Always fresh food & lots of cold cervezas/soda pops in the fridge. Legit the only place in CR I’ve found where dad can still order a lengua burrito! Don’t be shy with that bottle of green sauce on the table.

What a gem!! They catered our construction sight 300+ super burritos / chips and salsa with churros on the side. IT WAS A HIT, Berta was super accommodating (I had a few changes and the jobsite was not easy to get to) They knocked it out of the park!! The burritos were big and full just like in the restaurant and the salsa was VERY good. Thank you VERY much to you and your team and for bringing the lunch to us. You will see us again 🙂 You cant beat the price either!!!!

This place has been on my list to go for a while. Very nice little place to dine in or take out. The food was alright. I had 3 steak tacos which were pretty good. My friend had the mini Nachos which were surprisingly good. I would definitely go back. The prices are very reasonable. I love these little types of restaurants. They put love into what they cook to satisfy your palate.
