Four of us tried this restaurant last night and couldn’t have been more pleased. We showed up at 6:45 along with two other large groups so there was a little bit of a wait to get food to the table because if so many orders at once, but boy was it worth it. This was the best shrimp scampi I have had at any restaurant and better than making it at home and I thought I cooked it great! The apple cobbler was amazing. My husband got a toffee cake dessert and loved it. Two people in our party got the fish and said it was excellent and the buffalo sandwich was very good. The server was very helpful and friendly and the beer was ice cold. We will certainly be coming back to this little hidden gem!

Our waitress, Jenn, was very friendly & attentive. Tin Can Nachos were a generous portion & flavorful. The crispy chicken tacos on special were good, I should have asked for a side of the sauce to add for my palette. Nice atmosphere (front side of menu shown, there were entrees on the back that I did not get a photo of)
They are offering an Easter brunch (photo of menu shown)

My husband, son and I went for dinner to give this place a try. We are so glad we did! Great food, friendly service, and nice, casual atmosphere. The menu seemed to me like upscale bar food along with some nicer options as well. I had the salmon and veggies, which they adapted a bit to my dietary restrictions. It was a large serving, delicious, not dry, and the veggies were very fresh and cooked to perfection. My son had the 1/2 order of nachos with pulled pork, which came out in a huge serving! Husband had fish and chips. The 3 large pieces of fish were expertly fried, the chips were obviously made in-house, and the slaw was fresh. We finished with a delicious layered chocolate cake. The one drink we had was very good as well. Overall, I would totally compare this place to the Pinehurst and Southern Pines restaurants, just less expensive and slightly off the beaten path. It is so close to our house, we will surely be coming back!

Surprised how amazing the food is! Best shrimp and grits hands down. Drinks and portions are generous.

Chicken Wings!!!
We had the pretzel, chicken wings, bbq nachos and special Burris tacos. All were very good! Will be back again and ask about the next time they are doing a brunch buffet!

If you ever gave a shadow of a thought to supporting local, please drop in on The Lighthouse.
I would have left a photo of my beautifully plated dinner… but you’ll just have to take my word for it.
This place is a hidden jem! Steven & Ally are great and we will be back pretty much every Friday for the foreseeable future.

We ate at the Lighthouse at Little River on Friday night. First time we have been there since the new owners took over. Food is very good. Hubby and I both started with a cup of the French onion soup. It was delicious and much more than a cup! I ordered the special black and blue burger, which was cook perfectly! French fries came with it and they were crispy on outside but fluffy on inside as fries should be. Hubby had the meatloaf and he said it was very good. His came with green beans and mashed potatoes. It was definitely a lot of food.
Looking forward to going back and hanging out with friends in the bar.

The first time we ate there my tacos were dry as a bone, but my husband just loved the fish fry. The drinks were fantastic! So we went again last night. The fried ravioli came out burnt like hockey pucks. My meatloaf was served dry and burnt in little pieces, not as a loaf. Terrible, but the brussel sprouts and potatoes were very good. My husband’s spaghetti was tasteless. We would love to keep trying for a good meal, but we just can’t. However, the staff is wonderful and very nice and like I said, the drinks are great! Perhaps we will just stop at the bar for a drink after work and leave the food to someplace else.

I was part of a large party. We were the only ones in the restaurant until after we ordered. My creole shrimp and grits were good except there was no sausage, as stated on the menu, and, as most shrimp grits have. When I asked the first waitress, she said she wasn’t sure about sausage in shrimp & grits. The second waitress checked with the chef and they came back and said something about it was “topped” with sausage and that sometimes the amount of sausage was different. For the price of $22, I would have thought there would have been a better portion of both sausage and shrimp and grits. They did comp me for the lack of sausage. The waitress brought the food to one table, the second table didn’t get their food til we were about halfway through, and 3rd table was a little while later. The waitress only checked on us once after the food came out and that was right after the food came out. I have to say I was a bit disappointed by the whole experience.

This past weekend, my husband celebrated his military retirement at The Little River Golf Resort in the banquet room upstairs. For dinner, Lighthouse at Little River catered the event. We fed around 125 people and decided on their BBQ buffet. We had salad, pulled pork, beer can chicken, coleslaw, Mac & cheese, baked beans, and mashed potatoes. IT WAS AMAZING!!! After dinner was served, we had guests come up to us to tell us how they were a little leary of a buffet, but were happily surprised by the quality of food. Some people joked about going downstairs to the kitchen to see if they had any leftovers or takeaway boxes. The Lighthouse at Little River did not disappoint. Please do yourself a favor, and try their cuisine. Better yet, if you have an event where you need a venue and food provided, consider Little River. You won’t be disappointed.
