Established in 2019. Perla Baking Co. cafe was born out of the idea to bring our love of baked goods and specialty coffee to the historic main street of Defuniak Springs, Florida. We offer our local community fresh breads, pastries, desserts and lunch items paired with great organic coffee and teas from Amavida Coffee Roasters. Please stop by for a visit and enjoy and wonderful breakfast or lunch offerings. We look forward to your visit. Locally owned and operated in the heart of Historic DeFuniak Springs, FL.

I stopped by here yearly when I stop by the Christmas markets and I’m never disappointed. The place is spacious and always clean. You could probably eat off the floor in the place it’s so clean. The staff is always smiling and friendly as well. I love stopping here for a quick snack. The outdoor seating is always so relaxing too.

Basically this is Amavidas (just dba Perla Baking).
What sets them apart is superb employees! Everyone who I came in contact with or helped me was an absolute pleasure.
They have a couple of gluten-free options, orange cranberry / blueberry muffins, and then macaroons made with almond flour.
They will even heat it up for you and have real butter 🙂
I didn’t eat lunch here, but saw a couple of other people‘s dishes, and they looked phenomenal!
Clean syrups made by the pink house apothecary.
I appreciate that they have a traditional cappuccino, including the full presentation with seltzer water.
Setting is in a quaint little downtown, plenty of seating inside and out.
Great place to meet a friend to catch up have a little Bible study or journal.

I recently visited the Perla Baking Co. at 766 Baldwin Ave, in Defuniak Springs, FL. I went inside and noticed how nice the interior was. I went to the counter and was met and my drink order was taken as I looked over the baked goods I had to chose from, a tough decision. I chose a scone and took it to my table and enjoyed my light meal. A must go to place.

Great spot, great atmosphere, great food, great service! We’ve been here twice and has not disappointed. My family had multiple coffee styles, avocado toast, croissants (the almond croissant is the best) , berry cheese danish, chicken soup and sandwich, avocado BLT, the nova salmon toast, salad and more. Everyone enjoyed their meal . All tasted fresh. They also have a selection of unique canned kombucha. Staff is courteous and welcoming. Located in the Defuniak Springs historic district with a nice view of the train museum and Lake Defuniak.

Craving something sweet I found this bakery at DeFuniak Springs. When I got there, it was kinda busy, a lot of people were eating sandwiches as a part of lunch. The baked goods were few, and I opted for cheese danish with some fruits. It was really big and tasty. The place was clean and nice, the employees helpful.

Came in and went a little crazy buying pastries. Fresh, beautiful presentation, and best of all scrumptious. Bought quiche as well. So moist, cheesy and delectable. Everything has been fantastic. The art on the walls makes a homey atmosphere as well.

The coffee and food is amazing!! The baked pastry selection is so good. I usually get the quiche because it is so delicious…but I had the biscuits and gravy this morning…all I have is an empty plate to show lol. Sorry! The coffee is Amavida and is so delicious!! It is COFFEE…not watered down nasty stuff. The lattes are better than any I’ve had…It is so great to have a place like this local. Don’t hesitate…the price is worth it for the quality and fresh food you are served here…you will pay more at chains!! SUPPORT LOCAL!!!

Well, I finally tried the place. As a local, we wanted to try sooner, but have not had the opportunity to until today. They sure didn’t disappoint at all, glad i went.
1. Food: I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic taste. The food was very fresh. I had the Strawberry and Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. They have breakfast and lunch options. Also, the coffee is one of my favorites Amavide Coffee from 30a.
2. Price: Very fair for the portions you received.
3. Staff: Was excellent and very friendly. They definitely took care of me, offered all options.
4. Parking: Plenty of parking on street near and in front restaurant.
5. Atmosphere: very cool and low keyed. If you need a place to work remote, this place can for sure be the place.
6: Hours Of Operations: 7 days a week. 7am central to 4pm central
