We started with the corn appetizer, which was such a pleasant surprise. Simple, flavorful, and done really well—it complemented the meal perfectly and showed how even small dishes here are thoughtfully prepared.
The chicken katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly juicy inside, with a light, crunchy breading that didn’t overpower the flavor. Easily one of the best katsu dishes I’ve had. The beef udon was just as impressive—rich, savory broth with tender beef and perfectly cooked noodles that felt comforting and satisfying without being heavy.
To finish, the shaved ice dessert was the perfect ending. Light, refreshing, and beautifully textured, it balanced the meal perfectly and didn’t feel overly sweet.
On top of the amazing food, the overall experience was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh, portions were generous, and the quality was consistent across all dishes. This is definitely a spot I’ll be returning to and recommending to others. If you’re a fan of Japanese comfort food done right, this place is a must-try.
Updated: 2nd time visit again today for dinner, port tenderloin has tender quality as good as in Japan!
The tenderloin katsu was very crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. The corn appetizer was presented beautifully. Thank you to the Domoto team for the wonderful service! Highly recommend
I also came for their noodle bar. There’s a window in the dining area that looks directly into the noodle-making room on site. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to watch someone put on a live striptease show of my dinner. Sadly, the chef wasn’t in when I visited, but trust me when I say the texture of these noodles are unreal. They’re dense and chewy, so much that I had to ask if these were rice or flour noodles. It turned out to be made from flour, but it’s got a glutinous heft and chew that made me think of rice.
The mazeman dish is one of the noodle entrees that employs these freshly made noodles. I wasn’t sure how spicy pork, almond butter, butter and scallions would come together, but it absolutely works.
The aesthetics of the restaurant alone are worth a visit, but to make things even better, service is top notch. Not only was my server kind, warm, and attentive, but he was open with suggestions on how to better enjoy my meal. For instance, after I dug into my katsu appetizer, he brought over a little dish of a dark grey dressing. “It’s a house-made black sesame dressing,” he explained. “I personally like it with the cabbage.”
He was spot on. I was already loving the lightly dressed salad, but a little drizzle of the textured, nutty dressing took it over the top. Later, when I asked why my beer wasn’t on my receipt, he smiled and said it was on the house. I was touched and grateful. Truly, I haven’t had better service at high-end restaurants.
I came for the vibes, I stayed for the food, and I’ll have to come back for another visit soon.
We tried udon dish and it came with raw egg yolk, butter and sauce on the side. Noodle was made freshly on site. It was delicious!!
Pork tenderloin katzu was crispy, yet inside was juicy.
Lunch package is a great value.
The food was a bit of a mixed bag. The pork katsu was the highlight—perfectly crispy and tender. We also enjoyed the non-alcoholic wine and mojito. However, eating the sashimi rice with a soup spoon felt a bit awkward.
Service was the main drawback. After taking our order, the server disappeared. No one checked in on us to see how the meal was. We still left a cash tip, but between the hands-off service and the “just okay” food, we likely won’t be returning.
