Everyone is subject to their own opinion so I’ll share the facts:
Service (wait time) : 57mins (in house)
Price : 2 sandwiches – $45
Food quality : Fair
MY opinion : portions are too small for price . Had more bread than meat (no sauce on sandwich which I was aware of) . If it matters I’m Sicilian as my dad is from Sicily. Food doesn’t taste bad just is not hitting the mark in multiple categories.

As someone who has been searching for an Italian eatery on par to Molinari’s in SF, I was thoroughly impressed by the food at Originale. The party I was with loved the food so much we had lunch and rushed through the end of a hike in order to grab takeout from there before they closed. Everything tasted so fresh and just absolutely delicious. We tried their lemon mousse, strawberry cheesecake, bread pudding, and tiramisu as well and were, again, so pleased. The staff was also very kind and friendly. If I am ever in anchorage I WILL be returning.

I am never disappointed with the food or quality of sandwiches, desserts or portion sizes that they offer. My family & I have tried every single item on their menu & if you don’t know what to order, you could get anything on the menu & it would be amazing. My family & I love dining in, the owners are so friendly & make you feel welcome. The service is fast & the food is always fresh & made to order. I would 100% recommend this little but mighty spot!

Outstanding quality and value. Great espresso. Very tasty muletto and tuna salad.

Totally loved my pastrami sandwich (mamma Mia), portion was big and it was super delicious. I also got the gobbler turkey sandwich, it was good but I felt like it needed just a bit more flavor. Place is casual with cute trinkets and Italian inspiration everywhere.

Gone downhill!! What happened?? I placed my to/go order at 12:34pm and finally got it at 1:13 pm. I sat there and waited… Place had customers in there already eating, saw 2 food delivery people pu food and I sat there for 39 min for a sandwich, salad and 12 spoonfuls of soup( which was their large soup) Don’t get me wrong it is decent food, but I spent $54.00. Gave them a 15% tip. My sandwich was the daily special and the bread was 3/4 of the sandwich. I ordered the side of potato salad which was just cold mashed potatoes, no flavor. . The “large” soup was literally 12 spoonfuls, with spoon they give you, the salad was just a very marginal amount of greens w/a very small scoop of chicken salad. Also, while I was waiting for my order 2 other people came in and had ordered just behind me and one person asked for their money back. What’s up?? There were 3 people working in the line and it was pitiful service!!! I’ve been here 26 years, grew up in a very Italian part of Chicago and this is very disappointing!! I called and spoke to the manager/guy slicing meat. He listened to my complaint and said I’m sorry you weren’t happy with the food. Let me just remind everyone… $54.00 for a one person lunch from a “take-out” deli..there are many other places downtown to go, I’d avoid this place unless you want to go there just because DDD/Guy Fieri included it in one of his episodes.

I stumbled on this place by accident. I was in ANC for work and was dying of starvation. I knew I didn’t want anything too heavy, just something to curb my appetite. Man did I hit big! I got a half Il Diavolo and a potato salad. So freaking good. It was enough food for lunch and dinner. I can’t imagine what a full sandwich looks like. Every time I come to ANC this is my one and only stop for food. The owners are super nice! Please bring this gem to Texas!!!
