Well,, not been here for a couple of years as we moved out of the area, but Paprika was our 100% go to. How things has changed… on this occasion- drinks were wrong ordered Peach schnapps and a can of Natch came, drinks came ice although the waiters repeated “no ice”.prawn puree has chamged, and to put what tasted like tomato kethup is a let down in its self , never have i had this. My Lamb madrass was “flavourless” and all can taste was spice, no other flavour, unlike previous, the other meals was just ok, again nothing like before, The service was not upto what it once was, with happy amd friendly staff, and the food was ok… unlike before, where it was outstanding, its annoying, as we have missed paprika, and wenf on about so much to our friends, who we meet at the restaurant, and I was a little embarrassed for how much i “raved” on about Paprika and to be let down, came iut very disappointed,
4* for atmosphere only due to the complany we was with,
Im Sorry Paprika for a negative review, unlike my previous reviews i have give about Paprika, on trip advisor, Fb and other social media but on this occasion you did not impress, and my 1.45 hr journey was not worth the drive, unlike before where i would travel all day to enjoy your once fantastic atmosphere, food and your happy , friendly staff. Of course this maybe the one off, but 1st impressions count, for me i may give you another chance whe in the area, but i wouldnt go out my way, and as for the company i was with, wouldnt go back.. and they are fairly local (St Annes).
Its almost as if Paprika has changed owners / mangers, unles it has, and ibe not seen any post about it, once again, i am sorry for the negative, we was very dissatisfied on this occasion, i really do not like write such a negative review, when Paprika was once the place to go..
From the moment we sat down to the moment we left there was 2 kids approx 3-5 sat behind us.This was at 8pm and for the whole dinner all we heard was screaming, crying, shouting and kids youtube being played ridiculously loud on a phone.
We mentioned this to the staff as politely as we could on 2 separate occasions but they didnt do anything.
The staff could clearly see that most of the other people sat trying to have a nice evening were also not impressed and yet they couldnt politely ask the parent to try and have respect for the other diners and be a little quieter. Personally I would be embarrassed if my children behaved like that, especially in a restaurant!
So from 8pm till 9.30pm we enjoyed a lovely meal along with some really nice cocktails, all the while we could barely have a conversation due to the screaming and crying! Mentioned again while paying the bill and I was totally ignored! Not even an apology..
I know this is not the restaurants fault. I do feel like they have the responsibility to try and handle a situation such as this so that everyone can have a good evening. The arrogance of some people now astounds me! Poor attitude and a lack of respect for anyone else, but always the 1st to complain when its them!
Not being funny… it sounded like I was at a soft play not a restaurant. Really disappointed
