Here’s the reason for a 1-star review:

I knew in advance that I would be arriving in Ansley at around 7pm, and looking for a local place to eat. Of course, as mentioned in other reviews, this really is the ONLY restaurant in town. Google maps noted that it was ‘takeaway’ only. So, I called the restaurant around 4:30pm to confirm 2 things – Are you open at 7pm, and Are you doing table service. (Google maps said their hours were until 8pm) I was told YES to both (female).

I arrived at 6:45pm and started walking the block to the restaurant.

#1. It is not called Ansley Diner on any street facing sign. The sign is labeled as a Mexican restaurant. Not what I wanted, but hey – at this point I was expecting/wanting/waited on my drive for good local diner food, but anything will do at this later hour.

#2. The entire restaurant was pitch black dark, closed. Except for the kitchen! I could SEE a (male) person sitting there in full kitchen brightness and plainly visible from the front door. I knocked on the locked door (hey, at this point I’ll take it to go…)

I WAS IGNORED!

I stood there and called their phone number and heard the phone ring from where I was standing outside. AND IT WAS IGNORED!

1-star? Not even worth that.

Ate there two days when in town for work. Both days food was terrible. Second day just ordered a grilled cheese cause I thought it would be pretty hard to screw up. It was so bad I couldn’t even eat it. Wasn’t planning on tipping cause the waitress did a horrible job too. But if you use a card to buy your meal they add an extra dollar to your bill. Only place in Ansley to eat but you’re better off driving the 20 minutes to Broken Bow for food. If you eat here you’ll regret it!!

Excellent customer service, though my meal sucked. I ordered Chicken Enchiladas & my enchiladas were warmed up in the microwave, not cooked the proper way. They gave me very little chicken & the sauce they sell as “pico de gallo” was just tomato sauce, some chopped onions & cilantro; also food is overpriced. Me & my family are never returning to this place. One more thing, I’m reporting them for serving uncooked food.

Ansley Diner is a new little place to eat in Ansley, serving authentic Mexican Cuisine. Tasty food and good service. A little more pricey than some Mexican restaurants.

It is nice! I really enjoyed the triple-flipple-dipple-nacho supreme! I’d recommend to anyone, but the jalapenos be kicking, my man!
