Disappointing Start at Squire Pub & Social Beautiful Location, Needs Work
Our experience at Squire Pub & Social was unfortunately a mixed bag, especially considering its prime location within a Grand Canyon resort. Arriving right as the doors opened, we were met with an unwelcoming look that made us feel like we had interrupted something. Despite being the only patrons, our cold appetizers took an astonishing 40 minutes to arrive. Bizarrely, our entrees followed a mere five minutes later, leaving us with a table quickly overflowing.
While the fish and chips proved to be a highlight – the fish was well-cooked and the chips were crispy – the pizza was a significant letdown. It tasted undeniably like a frozen, boxed variety, which was incredibly disappointing given the setting. To add to the confusion, we had to request plates for our pizza and were then provided with small appetizer plates, highlighting a distinct lack of common sense amongst the staff.
To be fair, the staff members we interacted with were genuinely nice and polite. However, their lack of training and basic understanding of restaurant service was glaringly obvious. From the delayed appetizers to the mismatched plates, it felt like we were their first customers ever.
For a restaurant situated within a Grand Canyon resort, expectations are naturally higher. While the location undoubtedly offers a captive audience, Squire Pub & Social needs a serious overhaul in its kitchen efficiency and staff training to meet even basic dining standards. The potential is there, especially with the good fish and chips, but significant improvements are needed to justify a visit, particularly for those expecting a quality dining experience in such a remarkable location.

Good food for a fair price for a hotel grill. Variety was good and portion size was good. Nothing extraordinary with the side salad being too small for my liking. But a great option to eat in this town, and way way better than fast food options like Pizza Hut, McDonalds or Wendy’s, or over prized restaurants.

Took a chance because I have a picky eater in my party and saw chicken tenders on the menu.
We had a wonderful time! All the staff was very attentive. Bree tended to us and she was such a great personality, not only did we have a great time with her, but we also saw her making time for each table and chatted a little bit with each set of guests. Super hospitable, and we got everything from drinks to food in great time. Wonderful, wonderful service.
The food was excellent, too. The Chicken tenders passed muster for my picky eater, and the corn quesadilla I had was probably the best restaurant quesadilla I’ve ever had.
I’d absolutely come here again.

We were hesitant to go here after reading the reviews but all the reviews for places in this town are bad. We took the leap and went and I was even more hesitant after seeing the place was deserted and the fact it was downstairs and quite dark. We ordered a large pizza and chicken strips and fries (trying to order “safe food”) and they arrived in what would be a normal wait time. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the food tasted and it was definitely hot. You have to order up front at the bar and they deliver the food to your table. The waiter (some guy from Pittsburgh) was super nice and chatty when you take to him and ask a few question’s, etc. I think what some of these reviews are forgetting is many of these places got smoked by Covid and are still recovering. It’s hard to get staff and limited menus are an attempt to make it easier on the limited kitchen staff and also not have food go to waste by having too many options. If I was just looking for pub food I wouldn’t hesitate to go back here.

Loved this place, visited here while I was visiting Grand Canyon National park. Great place to hangout with friends and family in a remote place. There are games, bar and a lot of other stuff. Bowling lanes are pretty old but what else can you expect in a remote place. Overall a great place.

The cashier on the arcade side had an attitude at 1st but was okay after I had to tell him I’ve had a hard day, I brought my family here to eat & play & this is the customer service I get from you? After I mentioned that to him he changed his attitude. I told him I’d like to have his job. Had Pizza & wings for dinner here. Pizza was not so tasty. Wings were on point. Played pool & bowling. It was fun!

Waiter kinda tried, those are $$9.00 “chips” and salsa. It was basically tomato sauce, yep already had chip pieces in it. That is about 8 chips gone too. That ratio of chips to tomato sauce was pretty ridiculous. Wife’s punch was ok according to her too. Table next to us got food discounted. Not a busy night, but a Saturday…so walk somewhere else.

This place is ahidden Gem. Indoor and oitdoor pool with hit tub open til 10pm with poolside bar. We stayed here almost a week and found the Pub and Arcade downstairs.. the Staff were great, food was very good, drinks were delicious, don’t forget to check out the arcade and the bowling across the hall. We leave tomorrow but will be back next year.

The bartender never bothered to take our order. Found a table & it took forever for the server to acknowledge us.
Ordered sodas & beef nachos & the server never retouched the sodas. Never took the rest of our food order.
We cashed out & went to McDonald’s instead.
We should have came here in the first place…

Service was awful. Food was good. Waited 10 minutes for the server to even take our drink order and another 15 for her to bring the drinks (soda & a water). The beer we ordered was a 20 minute wait.
Order takeout if anything.
