This Starbucks in Shelby, NC is always such a great experience. The café is clean, welcoming, and has that relaxed small-town North Carolina vibe that makes you want to stay awhile — whether you’re meeting someone or just enjoying a quiet coffee break.
My all-time favorite is their Hot White Chocolate Mocha (Latte) — it’s rich, smooth, and the perfect comfort drink, especially on a cool North Carolina morning.
Today I tried something new and ordered the Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte, and it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, lightly sweet, and so refreshing — perfect for our warmer Shelby afternoons. I’ll definitely be adding this one into my regular rotation.
I also had the Egg Pesto Mozzarella sandwich warmed, and it paired perfectly with my drink. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully prepared.
I ended up spending a couple of hours there doing computer work, and it was the perfect environment for it. The atmosphere was comfortable, the seating was great, and I really enjoyed the selection of music playing in the background — upbeat but not distracting.
The baristas at this Shelby Starbucks location are consistently friendly and efficient, and they truly make the experience enjoyable. If you’re in Shelby, NC or anywhere in Cleveland County and looking for a dependable coffee stop or a comfortable place to work, this location is five stars all around.

I frequent this location often and have never had a problem. Both when it’s been super busy and no cars in line I’ve never had an issue. Today service was the worst ever! From order taking to service. At the voice box, even who I was on the phone with while ordering stated how they’ve never been to a Starbucks where the person taking the order showed not even an ounce of hospitality. Just “what do you want” type behavior. And then I didn’t mind that I waited 5 minutes at the drive thru window but when I was handed my drinks they were the messiest I’ve ever received from any Starbucks, with chocolate spewing all over and noticeable half wipes that just smeared it even more. The young man that handed me my drink even apologized for the way the girls made my drinks. And then bc they were messy and I was driving I didn’t try them until I got home. I paid $5 extra dollars for shots of espresso in my mocha Frappuccino and didn’t get a single shot! Just tastes like I’m drinking chocolate milk..and im not wasting gas to drive all the way back up there for them to fix something that should have been done right the first time..I come to this location bc of the convenience of the drive thru but if these are new employees and that’s how it’ll be ran from now on I’m better off just driving the extra half mile and going into the ingles location starbucks..

I just wanted to take a moment to commend Tucker for such a genuinely pleasant experience at the drive-thru. From the moment I placed my order, Tucker was attentive, patient, and accommodating, making sure my drink requests were understood and handled with care.

What really stood out was the reassurance and positive energy throughout the interaction — it was one of those small moments that truly makes a difference. I left the drive-thru with a smile on my face and a sense of gratitude, which says a lot for what can often be a quick, routine stop.

Tucker is a great representation of the Starbucks experience and a clear asset to the team. Thoughtful service like this doesn’t go unnoticed, and I hope they’re recognized for the care and professionalism they bring to their role.

If you guys are going to constantly allow customers to block in the handicap area where no one can get out or use it. Wouldn’t it be easier to relocate it? Or maybe put some type of markings down for the cars to know not to block everybody in the parking lot in?

I have never experienced such an inefficient Starbucks. If there even was a manager they were hiding. Long line of cars that they kept taking orders for with just two people making coffees. We went inside to order and sat and were not told it would be over 30 minutes to receive a coffee. The staff continued to take orders without letting anyone know how behind they were. The manager should be immediately terminated. 4 people working there with absolutely no hustle either. I saw others walking out because they couldn’t wait any longer including us.

Mobile ordered a drink and food at 0600 and sat at the windows for over 10 minutes waiting with no one in the line or store. When the girl came to the windows I ask if she forgot me and another staff member stated that she was running the window.

The only reason why I gave them a three is because the past two times I picked up my coffee it has been cold. I think they might not need to make 100 drink ahead of time when they are busy and drive thru wrapped around the next business
