Neighborhood Italian spot dishing out classic, seasonal Roman fare & handmade pasta in a cozy space.

Excellent food. So tasty! Very good! I had the risotto special (ate the entire plate). Had the caprese (was perfect, so fresh). Had the ravioli special (very, very tasty) & tried the pork chop (yum). Also, what great service, what a super staff! They’re so sweet & friendly & on top of things. Cozy, yummy spot. Recommend

really charming, authentic and delicious Roma style restaurant. attentive service without being stuffy and clearly a beloved neighborhood eatery. simple dishes in the Roma style made with high quality ingredients and an attention to detail. the menu is small and straightforward- probably not a haven for the vegans and definitely not the gluten free eaters but that’s not what they’re trying to do. it’s home style Italian cooking done exceptionally well.
truly a gem- in a city with so much overpriced italian food, Lupa offers excellent value, beautiful presentation and superb flavor.

Had a great dinner at Lupa!
Was impressed with the salmon (gluten free) and everyone enjoyed their pasta dishes (which aren’t available gluten free, but there are a ton of other options!)
The vibe is wonderfully warm, charming and cozy. Service was exceptional.
A great spot!

Great local find that serves authentic offerings with a spin.
You almost feel like family when dinning here, service was delightful and food was well balanced!
The bruschetta was divine!!!! Crème brûlée was slightly over toasted.
Would return!

Everything was great. The flavours, the temperature of the food when served, just fantastic. I did find that my spaghetti was just a tad bit underdone, the other pastas were al-dente. Sorry, I forgot the names of all the dishes. The tiramisu was also so so good! This might be my new favourite Italian in town!

Great place for Italian food, feels very authentic (including the attitude of the waiter, which, like a true Italian, didn’t really try to be nice or chat with us). The lasagna I got was a good size portion that tasted great and the tortelloni alla cardinale was a delicious dish, but not really big. Overall, a good place.

I can’t believe I have not written a review on Lupa Trattoria before. I have been coming here regularly for the past 12 years. This, in my opinion, is the best Italian restaurant in San Francisco.
The secret is simple dishes, executed perfect every time.
Stefano, the owner maintains the quality of food, service, and wine selection extremely well.
This restaurant, truly, is one of the best kept secret in San Francisco.

A delightful Italian spot in the heart of Noe Valley. It’s very quaint in the interior, and in the back is a larger-than-expected space with firepits. If it wasn’t so cold, I would have preferred to sit in the back.
The service is excellent and the servers are so attentive. Every item comes with an offer of fresh-cracked pepper and cheese. I ordered the pasta with seafood, which was a little bland, but my partner had a flavorful truffle pasta that was divine. It is a classy but not too over-the-top place for dinner.

Great Italian food ! Great prices ! Great service! The carpaccio is the best I’ve had . The bread and olive oil they serve is delicious. The bread was warm and crusty. The pasta dishes are incredible, the spicy pink sauce is just right, not too thick and lets you taste the fresh pasta the lightly toss into the sauce . We ended with the profiteroles with a warm dark chocolate sauce . Love this place. I had my moms 80th birthday here and the service staff was amazing.
