Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Bad reviews are just complainers. Go get a hot dog or a sandwich, add pickles and spicy russian, joke about the Yankees, and enjoy the food. Local businesses are what it’s about.

This place is slinging some of the best food in town. The food and people are great. The seating area is in an old building which is cool. There is a little good boutique next to it as well. It’s an out of the way place that is worth making the trek. It’s hours are limited, mainly due to serving just lunch for the workers down on produce row. Highly recommend.
Had to update, this place is just badass. 10/10
I think the gentleman who own this stand worked in Bodegas in NY, so if you’re from NY, this is probably for you.

Some of the best hot dogs known to man. This true hole-in-the-wall is run by a fantastic elderly couple who put heart into everything they make. The grilled pastrami dogs are unreal—my go-to is the pastrami dog with melted Muenster cheese, no sauerkraut. Every person I’ve brought here absolutely loves it. Limited hours, so set a time and show up—it’s worth it. Affordable, delicious, and full of soul.

Absolutely wonderful people serving hot dogs and pastrami. Absolutely stop by and show them some love and support. Really great cheese shop next door as well

John and Marcy are absolutely some of the kindest people I’ve met here in Portland! But the food. My gosh. I’ve never had a Rueben this good in my life. The meat tastes like perfection! And the prices are great! Definitely recommend Portland Beef and Cheese Company

A classic place has returned under this name (pka The Fried Onion). The place has a simple menu to choose from, and the service is super friendly. We ordered a few things to snack on – spicy reuben and a bacon reuben on flatbread and a bacon dog. I liked how quickly the food came out and how well it goes with the flatbread. Most of all, the couple working here is nice to everyone.

Ordered the pastrami and Chicago. These were the plainest thinnest hotdogs in portland. These reviews are seriously laughable and crucially misleading in my opinion. Price was okay for what you get. Two dogs for $13. Ive been to a place where you get hot dog, fries and a drink for $12 so could be better. Parking is horrible, this is a area with lots of trucks, activity, and little street parking for cars unless you are ok parking quickly in a risky spot that may not actually be a spot. Homeless begging for money. Toppings on the dog were very scarce, and everything came from a regular grocery store, down to the bread, pickles, dogs, pickled onions and probably pastrami. Certainly nothing spectacular. I didn’t see ketchup, mustard, or relish and i asked for jalapeños (.75 cents) on the side and they flat out told me NO, they don’t serve it on the side. Not sure why not if i was willing to pay but i decided not to buy them for that. And honestly they were not very friendly and personable as the comments make it seem. I got a really uncomfortable, unwanted vibe the minute i walked up to the minute i walked away. Sad to say i would not come back or recommend to anyone.

Classic Mom & Pop hot dog/sandwich stand – totally awesome. Food was excellent – I got the Hannah’s Favorite (pastrami, muenster, pickle and mustard) with hot peppers added – hit the spot right on the money. Aces.

Small place with great food! I tried the Spicy Russian and bacon dog—both were excellent, especially for the price. The quality is impressive, and the flavors are spot on. As others have mentioned, the staff at Panera are genuinely kind and make the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Amazing little, literal, hole in the wall for some quickish eats. Food is fresh and on point and the staff is super friendly. What more is there? Highly recommend the Spicy Russian. The Pastrami is hard to beat at this price. $1 chips and sodas like the ole’ days. Do it!
