The food and service at Wolfgang’s is consistently excellent. The food is not only delicious but it’s beautifully presented (pics). They have old and new world wines to pair with hearty dishes and you won’t feel rushed when eating. When the weather is nice sitting at the outside bistro bar or the outside seating is a treat.

Best Restaurant. Three of us dined in 4 restarants over our 4 nights in the area. We dined at two in Highlands and two in Cashiers. Of the four restaurants Wolfgang’s is the only one where we all agreed that the meal was excellent. Now this is not to be confused with Wolfgang Pucks – they will be quick to tell you that there is no affiliation. According to the restaurant’s Website, this restaurant is owned and named after German-born chef Wolfgang Green’s whose career included serving as Executive Chef for the Brennan Family of Commander’s Palace in New Orleans.

We started our meal by sharing the large Portobello Mushroom, stuffed with goat cheese and spinach, and topped with applewood smoked bacon and provolone on Cabernet sauce. For our entrees, we had the Ceasar Salad, the Wedge Salad, and the Seasonal Greens Gorgonzola Walnut Salad. For our entrees we had the Roast Loin of Lamb, The Venison Au Poivre, and the Pecan Crusted Shrimp. For we shared Chef Wolfgang’s Family Recipe Apple Strudel Ala Mode. Everything was consistently excellent! The server was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and very attentive. Service was also excellent. The noise level in the nicely decorated, mountain themed dining room was appropriate. The prices and portions were reasonable and we left with the feeling that we received good value for our meal. Next time in the area, Wolfgang’s will be on the must visit list.

We returned in July 2022 and everything was just as good.

We again dined in May 2024. I no longer consider Wolfgangs to be my favorite. The food was good. My girlfriend had the Crab and Lobster Bisque and the Stuffed Portobello, and I had the Onion Soup and the Bavarian Sampler. Where the experience fell short was on service. We were the only table inside that had our server. She rarely came by the table and never checked to see if we needed anything. Her service was slow. The inside dining room was also noisy. In the future, weather permitting, we will try the outside dining option. The prices and portions were still reasonable.

OUTSTANDING meal! Appetizer, mains, desserts, and drinks were all perfection. Service was the definition of southern hospitality. We sat on the covered patio and didn’t feel rushed, even as things got busier around us.

Alcohol-free options were easy here, as the bartender made every drink to order and was happy to recommended several NA options. The martini-style drink does not contain any alcohol and wasn’t overly sweet. Divine!

Wolfgang’s has a great wine list and delicious menu prepared with great style. Most especially the wiener schnitzel which is prepared in the best European manner. A great location and never a disappointment!!

I’m not a food critic so I’m not going to go into great detail about the cuisine. I will say that I enjoyed everything that I tried and thought the atmosphere was intimate and romantic. The service was impeccable and I look forward to returning.

This place really turned out to be a great surprise. My fiance and I were just spending a single night in Highlands and came to Wolfgang’s just by chance. Neither one of us were all that hungry, but that changed once we tasted our first appetizer. We sat at the little, 5 person bar, and had the full attention of the bartender that night, Lexi.
Now let me stop here for a moment to recognize greatness. Lexi was top notch. Her drinks were perfect. The flavor profile in her “personal mixes” was a delight. She was very social and all in all really added a great vibe to our night. So, thank you Lexi!!
We started out with their escargot appetizer. It was so delicious, we couldn’t stop there. Next up, I can’t remember the name, but it was a mix of German foods. Sausages, potatoes, two kinds of sauerkraut, and schnitzel. It was phenomenal. Everything was so flavorful. So we had to try a little more. Next up, the lamb chop trio. Cooked to tender perfection. You can’t miss on this one. I’m sad to say that we were actually getting full at this point and could not try any more food. The good news, I know where we will be dining the next time we are in Highlands.
Forgot to mention, the chef came out a few times just to see how everyone was enjoying the food. Kudos to you chef. Thank you for the time to come and check on your work!!

After I posted this, I realized I failed to compliment all the staff. Every one of the wait staff that came to the bar to get drinks for tables were all very kind and engaging. I’m really impressed by this whole place.

Amazing food, great beer and wine selection and knowledge and fantastic service! Must get the short rib, caeser salad, if you ever hear about the potato soup ORDER IT! best soup I have ever had, and for dessert strawberry Romanoff (I’m not kidding you, it was one of the most tastefully satisfying dessert I have ever had).

This was the first time at Wolfgangs. Their food is absolutely amazing. Our server Daniel was exceptional. He knew the menu and specials without having to run back to ask. His recommendations were all perfect!! Best Restaurant and food in all of Highlands. Beautiful atmosphere and the service was better then anywhere else we have ever been. We will be back.

This place was next level. Amazing service. The food was incredible. I stopped taking pictures after the appetizers because sometimes you just have to enjoy the experience. Pictures below are of the brie, wedge salad and crab cake. The onion soup and lobster bisque are off the charts. I had the venison and it was delicious- not gamey or tough at all. Tasted like a filet. The best part was this spanikopita like potato and goat cheese creation that came on the side. I would’ve ordered that by itself. It came with the venison- so good. The desserts we had the strudel and mousse. Both were excellent.
