Contributes to America’s obesity problem one bite at a time ….you will not want to leave any food on your plate. Steak fajitas …yes! Chicken fajitas …yes! Sweet corn cake ….yes! Guacamole …..yes! The beans yes! The presentation is great. The salsa was a little spicy for my sensitive tongue. Manuel is an awesome waiter. He checked on us just the right amount of times and kept our drinks full.
Highly recommend to try fresh tableside guacamole. The server makes guacamole in front of you and can be customized.
Tried one of their grilled chicken dishes for lunch,it was really good. Grilled chicken was juicy and it never felt dry. Portions were generous and mine was served with a side of rice, spinach and some other vegetables.
Overall food was really good and everyone in our group looked happy.
The wait staff is nice and the service is good and timely. The food is good, but the prices seem a little on the high end. Keep in mind, though, that this is a sit down Mexican place, not your typical burrito and taco quick bite.
Service – 50/50. Half the servers are really courteous, accommodating and polite(Manuel, Maria are the best). The other servers and staff leave A LOT to be desired.
Cleanliness – Bathrooms need scrubbed down, top to bottom. And the outside seriously needs garbage picked up, it is disgusting how much trash is in the landscaping around the front.
Safety – Not all the parking lights work.
Phone- Don’t even bother calling, they never answer the phone.
Also, sometimes they close the entire restaurant to a private party. Very inconvenient.
Update 10/28/17
Upgrading from 2 stars to 3 stars.
They have cleaned up the trash outside and taken care of the landscaping. They also have hired more staff, including some hostesses. The parking lot lights are now working as well. The service still needs improvements and the bathroom cleanliness still needs to be addressed.
Just observe the empty bar and bar dining area. There’s nobody there. We gave it one more chance this past month and decided we will move our happy hour. I sent a comment to El Torito and they sent an apology and said they hoped we try again. But we won’t. The food is okay for those who don’t mind paying the price.
