Went on Valentine’s Day with family. We chose the holiday because my grandpa passed the day before and it was my grandmas first Valentine’s Day alone. With that said service was slow which we expected but it was not acknowledged. The food was amazing. The clam holder, Guinness mussels (wow) surf and turf special all amazing. The server was friendly and helpful, not her fault they were super busy. I will 100% come back and look forward to a quieter night. Really awesome experience.

J.A. Heneghan’s Tavern & Restaurant is a fantastic spot. The food is hearty, flavorful, and truly satisfying — the kind of comfort food that leaves you full and happy. The dining room has a super cozy, warm atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and enjoy your time. The staff is excellent: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed meal with great food and great service. Highly recommend if you’re in Point Lookout.

Came here last night for Valentine’s Day. We were seated smack against a wall and barely had any room to eat. Took over an hour for appetizers to come out. We decided to take our main dish to go, my husband had ordered the shepherds pie, we opened it up and it was DRENCHED in grease. It looked like it was soup. I had ordered a ceaser salad with steak cooked well done and avocado on top. Mine steak was nowhere near cooked well done. It is very clearly medium rare , there was also no avocado on my salad.

Great food and cozy atmosphere make this a great restaurant option for brunch, lunch and dinner. J.A.H. Standard burger was juicy and the sweet potato fries were well seasoned.

What a lovely family run gem in Point Lookout! I was blown away by the cozy atmosphere and menu. The artichoke hearts were my favorite app. Loved the extensive cocktail menu in addition to all the beers on tap. Really amazing spot!

My friend and I came here before a concert at Jones beach and were seated promptly and had a very nice waitress. We had some phenomenal appetizers. We tried the filet sliders (out of this world), the crispy artichokes w/lemon aioli (I could seriously drink that stuff it was so delicious) and the burrata w/fried zucchini. I cannot stress enough how yummy the food was. The manager, Shana, should be teaching restaurant management somewhere because she is truly grade A. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Always a good comfort food place. A great starter is the crispy artichoke hearts with the lemon aioli. I love the French Dip Sandwich with a side of tater tots. Service is friendly and food is served quickly.
