Favorite Thai food spot in the pocket area. I was in Thailand recently and the food at this place is pretty authentic and equally flavor as the food I ate in Thailand. I had the Tom Kha soup and the mango with sticky rice delish.
The place inside is always immaculate, nice and quiet and the service is always fast and friendly.
Definitely a must try in the area

This is my family’s favorite thai restaurant in Sacramento. We always do family-style and order the yellow curry (my favorite), pineapple fried rice, and shrimp fresh rolls. Then, we have to choose between pad see ew and pad thai. My sister loves the thai tea. When I’m sick, I’m a sucker for their soups. The staff is always kind and attentive! Sai Varee has never failed us whether we dine-in, take out, or get delivery!

Reasonable to lower prices with big portions. Favorable food. Cozy and clean environment with nice ambient music. Fast service (though it was almost empty on this Saturday) with a steady stream of to-go orders.

Definitely a mixed review on this. It’s a referral from a friend for me to try this Thai restaurant. The foods is good and have many varieties of selections. Loved the traditional Thai flavors.
Only thing I really dislike is the service and the waiter getting my orders wrong. In addition, he charged me an extra items that I didn’t order.

Loved it. Food was excellent and service is great. Very comfortable and clean environment. Their “mild” is a little on the spicier side, so be cautious.

I live nearby and have eaten there about 5 times in 10 years. I have eaten great Thai food in many cities and different states in the past. This is not my favorite thai restaurant it kind of has an Americanized vibe. IMHO the best Thai food are the hole in the wall places. The atmosphere here is pleasant, with tablecloths, but its a bit cramped bcuz the tables are very close together. On the food, one time I ordered Pahd Thai Noodles and they were a different kind of noodle, very thin. I did not like them, or the flavor. A few years later I went back and they made it with the authentic traditional noodles and it was better but still, nothing like the hole in the wall in L.A. that I ate at regularly many decades ago. However if you live in the Pocket and don’t want to go downtown, it’s convenient and a nice little place.

We ordered calamari rings, spicy chicken drunken noodles, duck pad se ew, spicy beef thai basil and spicy chicken Thai fried rice. None of the dishes were spicy to our Asian taste buds but everything was flavorful. Calamari rings were not fresh and were chewy. Do not order duck with pad se ew, it tasted off. Portions were large and lots of protein in the dishes. Food took quite a bit to arrive maybe ~45 min.

The atmosphere is nice and cozy, however, the food we had was underwhelming. The mango curry had no color to it and it was sadly bland. You couldn’t tell what the ingredients were (is this a potato, a mango, tofu?) due to how everything was the same color (minus the carrots). I also don’t remember the mango curry having potato in it. It felt like the wrong curry was made and the chef hastily added mangoes to it.
I asked for Roti, but wanted to know how much roti was in a serving. We weren’t given a clear answer, there may have been a languag barrier. I asked for three Roti and was given three servings. So us and the waitress didn’t communicate clearly. We wanted pieces not servings. Three servings is a lot for two people.
The roti was incredibly oily. The flavor was oil. You can see in the photo how oily it was.
We felt like the waitress knew something was off because she looked sheepish and shy when she asked how everything was.
I was bummed the food was basically inedible, I’ve been here before and enjoyed it. Maybe they have a new chef? We went on a Thursday.

I recently visited Sai Varee Thai Cuisine in Sacramento, and I must say, I was blown away by the delicious food and excellent service. I ordered the Pad Thai, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the portion size was generous.
But what really made my experience memorable was the amazing service from the manager, Pam. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was perfect. From recommending other dishes to ensuring our food was served hot and fresh, Pam truly made our visit special.
Overall, I highly recommend Sai Varee Thai Cuisine to anyone in the Sacramento area looking for delicious food and excellent service. And if you’re lucky enough to have Pam as your manager, you’re in for a real treat!
