Just arrived to Elkton all the way from NY. Bayou Kitchen’s Po Boys were a great food welcome to Elkton, VA!
Got the Chicken Po Boy and Shrimp Po Boy (that come with Zapp Potato Chips) and they were delicious!!! Chicken is fresh, crunchy and not dry! The shrimp was also cooked well – fresh, crispy, and soft. The sauce was also just enough, so it doesn’t overwhelm the other flavors 🙂
Would love to visit again if we have time during our trip at Elkton!

Trailer was at the Alpine Goat brewery today. Over priced, long wait times. Chicken way to salty. Do not get the gumbo , it’s soup.. anyone actually from the deep south would laugh at the gumbo. Flavorless watery soup. Expensive and not worth it at all.
Photo is the gumbo. Not good at all and is lacking flavor. Please do not go there expecting much.. dissatisfied to say the least.

The Gumbo is one of the best i’ve had since i’ve been to Lafayette Louisiana! The mother clucker is also amazing with their homemade sauce. Deliciousness!!!!

Best possible local Cajun option. Tried the Po boy shrimp and grits gumbo and fried pickles all were excellent. Pricing Fair quality good staff awesome. They do a lot of local events, so you may need to check their Facebook page before you place an order

Easily the best (and biggest) fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. 11/10 would drive the 3 hours back to Elkton just to eat this!

This place has the best Cajun style food I’ve had this far from Louisiana. I used to live further south, and since I came back to Virginia I’ve been missing this type of food…and oh boy is it authentic.
The sauces are incredible, the chicken is a incredible, the fish, all of it is just plain good. Can’t go wrong with the menu options, but my personal favorite is the chicken po boy.
Also, great customer service. The gentlemen that operate the place really do care about their customers and always have friendly attitudes. The last 2 times I’ve dined, they’ve asked for feedback and how they can improve, which shows to me that they really do care about your experience with them.
My only complaint is that they are opening up a full-time location a few blocks from my house soon, and I am not looking forward to having to be taken back home in a forklift.
Seriously, give this place a shot. You won’t regret it.

The BEST Bayou food we’ve ever had. I was blown away by the flavor and couldn’t believe how incredibly delicious it was. My husband keeps talking about this place and it’s been 24 hours. If you see them parked somewhere physically or through social media, don’t hesitate to go grab yourself some food — you will NOT be disappointed. Y’all have a customer for life from us! Absolutely exceptional!!

Awesome food that reminded me of a trip to New Orleans years ago! We had the shrimp po boy and gumbo. Both had super generous servings of meat in them and were very flavorful/perfectly prepared . We were lucky enough to catch the Bayou Kitchen when they were at the Elkton Brewery but i heard that they travel to various breweries, car dealerships, fairs etc…Definitely a must try!!
