I had such a disappointing experience at the Tropical Smoothie in Carrollwood today. When I placed my order, I politely asked if any extra smoothie could be poured into a kids cup. The employee explained that there might not be any extra, which was completely fine—I even said so and simply asked for a kids cup regardless.
When my order came out, they didn’t acknowledge my request at all. When I asked again for the kids cup, the staff was rude and dismissive, as if I was inconveniencing them for something I had clearly asked for from the start.
On top of that, when I first walked in, there was a line of people waiting and not a single employee acknowledged anyone. No “I’ll be right with you,” no eye contact, nothing. The whole team looked miserable, and the energy showed in their customer service.
I love Tropical Smoothie as a brand, but this location seriously needs improvement in attitude, communication, and basic courtesy. Definitely not the service standard customers should expect.

this tropical café smoothie does not know how to make smoothies. It tastes Really bad like they don’t wash the blenders after they use it because you can taste the other smoothies and then when you get your smoothie, it just taste like a mix of the other smoothies that were in there. I was drinking a smoothie and it tasted almost rotten I even asked them to remake it to see maybe if it would change the flavor, but it tasted even worse. I even put sugar in it to see if that was missing and it still tasted so bad. I have never had a bad experience in tropical café smoothie but this location specifically is bad. I was so disappointed in this place I would never come back. if you plan to stop here, just run and go to Starbucks that’s next-door

Love tropical smoothie, the classic big box smoothie store offering a wide variety of smoothies and healthier bites. Perfect place for a quick snack or a light lunch. They have a small breakfast menu as well. Staff at this location has always been friendly to me and the food meet the standard. Will definitely come back for a quick smoothie and a snack!

Really disappointed with this location. They give the option for curbside pickup on their website when you order, but when you pull up right outside the store, nobody comes. This happened twice recently. The first time, I called them and they sounded annoyed but said they would bring my order out. But then items were missing from my order so I had to go inside anyways. Then the second time, I called and said I was there for a curbside order and was rudely told “We don’t do that no mo.”
I appreciate curbside pickup because I have small children and getting them in and out of their car seats can be a hassle, especially if one is sleeping, just to grab a smoothie. This is in an area with lots of families so I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.
The employees at this location are just lazy.

I went to this location today for the first time i will be coming again this place not only smelled clean but looked it, the food + smoothie was great i was attended by two coworkers Evel and Luna they were very polite and nice they helped me pick a smoothie based on my likings and showed me how to get my points on the app

If I could do zero stars, I would. Ordered a veggie Caesar wrap, got a salad instead. No big deal so i thought. Eating my salad noticed there was mold in the meatless/plant based chicken substitute. Literally praying I don’t get physically ill now over lack of quality food control

I spent 10 dollars for a rotten salad. The lady doesn’t give me dressing, I had to ask for it. She brings me dressing without a lid to take home and it’s ranch. Mind you I ordered a Thai salad, expecting Thai dressing as is advertised.
I come home and the salad is half empty, covered in stale wontons and rotten cilantro. Literally rotten gunk.. I won’t be eating it and it’s very disappointing .. I normally go to the memorial location where the food is fresh and correct. The reviews here worried me and I should have listened.
Update: the general manager Joyce is a kind and helpful woman and has offered to remake or refund which I find professional and accommodating. Though driving back over is a pain I appreciate she will allow me to do it at my leisure.
I’d say if you come into this location just double check everything is good before you leave! The smoothies were good
