I ordered the one steak they have on the menu, medium rare. It was raw, not pink, Raw….or Super Blue. I said something to the server and she took the plate right away to fix it. Within five minutes she brought it back. Cleary the whole plate was put in a microwave in the kitchen. The cheese on the truffle fries was hardened when it returned and the small cup of ranch was now hot. I tried two more bites, asked for a box and that was my one and only experience. Extremely disappointed, but am happy to drive an hour to eat.

Update: They asked me to reach out and I left a voicemail over a week ago to the number I was given and have not heard back. Just because you are a small business does not mean paying customers need to excuse poor service and poor quality food. Don’t let small businesses guilt you into lying about your experience.Rehma’s coffee is an amazing small business I love to support. I recommend going elsewhere for date night. My review has been moved to 1 star due to very poor customer experience. I also would advise you to look at other reviews that are 1 or 2 stars as this owners response to reviews of poor service/food are narcissistic and they don’t like to accept criticism.

Overall the experience was okay. The customer service provided by Nicole was amazing and she truly saved this from being a 1 star review with her amazing service. The salads were good as they are simple salads. Out of all the food on each dinner plate I was only impressed by the potatoes which were amazing and the carrots were the second best I have ever had!! I could eat them as a daily snack! I was not a fan of the beef Wellington it tasted kinda funny but my husband tried it and said it was okay. The layered potato was alright. The asparagus was unflavored and bland. The steak was alright. Overall our bill was $70 and we only really liked the salads and two sides. I’m kinda sad because MANY people recommend this place but I was only impressed by 4 out of 8 things served 2 being salads… My husband isn’t picky and he wasn’t impressed either.

I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich to go. I also ordered the mushrooms appetizer. The mushrooms were amazing and perfectly cooked.
The chicken sandwich was hardly edible. The bottom bun was so burnt that I can’t believe they put it in the box.
The chicken sandwich itself was so dry that it was hard to chew.
This is the second time that I’ve tried this restaurant. The first time, I didn’t leave review but I contacted the owner and he recommended that I come back and try again. He offered to pay for a meal, but I wanted to just have the experience as a normal paying customer. Once again, a partial waste of money. The fries were good but the sandwich terrible. I think that the sandwich would be amazing if the people that worked in the kitchen actually cared about what they served to people. His recipes are well thought out and put together and I know he wants to be successful. It’s also a sign of the times, it’s hard to find hard workers and everybody is quiet quitting.
That being said, I frequent another restaurant in town and they always cook the food perfectly.

First, I want to say the timeline is just as a reference and that I decided to keep my reservation even though the person on the phone stated there would be a wait.

Reservation 7 PM on a Saturday

Seated: 6:57 PM and ordered our drinks and appetizer shortly after being seated.

Drinks: 7:06 PM our diet cokes arrived, and we ordered our sides and main courses and desserts.

Appetizers: 7:50 PM our order of Philly cheesesteak egg rolls arrived. These were good and I would recommend them, but they didn’t taste anything like a Philly cheese steak sandwich, but we all thought they were great. You get two egg rolls. They had a little kick which I loved.

Side Salad: 8:09 PM our Caesar side salads arrived. We all thought they tasted plain, and they were skimpy on the dressing. I did request more dressing for each salad, and they brought it out after a few minutes and the salad was made exponentially better with the extra dressing. I did not like the chewy homemade (?) crotons but my significant other enjoyed them. My son thought they were too hard to chew. If you are a traditional Caesar salad lover, I would not recommend this as it doesn’t taste like a Caesar salad. I do recommend this if you are open to a new twist on Caesar salad.

Main Courses: 8:40 PM our main courses arrived. The orders were the walleye dinner, meatloaf dinner and meatloaf sandwich. Let’s start with the good. The walleye was great. My girlfriend did not like the carrots, but I loved them. Taste is subjective. The walleye fillet was a large one and we all had a taste and loved it. The baked potato was just that, a plain baked potato, and is in our fridge but looks properly cooked. My son liked the bread and fries of the meatloaf sandwich but not the meat. I tasted the meat, and it was a bit on the dry side. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either.

Meatloaf dinner. If you see the picture it looks like a charred steak but trust me that is meatloaf. Ok let’s come back to that. The asparagus was ok, nothing special. The mash potatoes looked brown but tasted like regular mash potatoes. Nothing special there. Ok back to what is supposed to be meatloaf. I have never in my life had a meatloaf so hard. You could almost break it like a chip. If my video uploads you will see me try to cut it with a fork and it barely did the job after a couple of attempts. I couldn’t eat this. It was just too hard. I did let the waitress know and she gave me 50% off the meatloaf dinner. I accepted this but in reality, I only took one bite. This was terrible. It almost looks like they are pre-sliced then grilled to warm it up. They were very thin as well.

Dessert: 8:49 pm the caramel cheesecake arrived. We ended up just taking this home and still haven’t eaten it. It was late and we were ready to head home. The caramel doesn’t really look like caramel so it’s still in the fridge. If we do end up eating it I will update this review.

It’s very loud inside. And you have to walk through the main entrance of the hotel to access the restaurant. If you are looking for a quiet romantic evening…this is not the place to go. I personally didn’t mind the loud atmosphere (sounded like being in the middle of a crowded bar) but it was hard to even hear the waitress when ordering.

As always…I will go again at a different time and on a different day to see if anything has changed. I may post the video on YouTube and put the link here if the food is the same on my next trip.

Thanks again.

It’s nothing more than a hotel bar. Food was way more than what you would find at a simple days inn. The seating and cozy nooks are very nice in the bar area. The dining room is more sub par. The staff is very good and prompt. The chef either forgot to order enough food for the busy weekend or did not have enough funds to buy the food. They had several items 86ed for the weekend.

Wow. We got a gift card for Christmas and finally had a chance to come over and try out Flank Steakhouse. The restaurant is beautiful, staff is very friendly and the food is insanely good.

I had the Hanger and my wife had the Teras Major, both were so good. The Hanger was cooked so perfectly, I savored every bite. The best part wasn’t even the steaks, but the sides were amazing as well. The bacon jam carrots I had were the best carrots I’ve ever had.

My wife had their butterscotch ice cream for dessert and it was so good she wanted to lick the dish.

We will definitely be back and 10/10 highly recommend

We had our wedding reception at Flank Steakhouse in December of 2021 and it was amazing! We love the ambiance of Flank, the decor, and the food! We were looking to have a small wedding and thinking outside the box – we were interested in having something small, local, and with really good food! We presented our idea to Vince and Amanda to have our wedding reception there and they were totally on board! They were excited to host, offered creative ideas, and were very responsive throughout the planning process!

We reserved the whole restaurant and had around 85 people. It did not feel crowded and everyone had room to sit, walk, chat, and be served. Even the kids were pleased!

They have my favorite beer on tap, along with a lot of other great options, including from local breweries! They also had amazing non-alcoholic options like strawberry mint lemonade. They served delicious appetizers – one my husband loved that was made of mushrooms (and he doesn’t even like mushrooms!). We had our meal served – surf and turf – which everyone loved! We chose the house salad and hanger steak with carrots and garlic mashed potatoes with a prawn. There were a lot to clean plates and many compliments! Regretfully, we don’t even have pictures of the main meal because we were too busy enjoying it. They also served a variety of desserts that our guests really enjoyed.

I cannot give them enough praise! The wait staff and kitchen staff was also wonderful! Vince has some serious talent and passion for what he does and it shows! Amanda is very detail-oriented, creative, and such a gracious host.

I recommend Flank Steakhouse to anyone – whether it is for lunch, a nice date night dinner, a get together with friends for drinks, or … maybe even a wedding!

$156 for food and tip for 3 ppl The food was good but not for the price, pretty expensive if you ask me. I thought the steak my bf ordered was gross but he seemed to like it. I got the all you can eat cod which was good and my daughter liked her burger, the mashed potatoes were a little runnier than we prefer but tasted fine, I’d still stand by the fact that it was overpriced and likely won’t go back.

Yum! So glad I ordered what I did and got to taste so many other dishes. I loved the flank steak, and it was medium rare-exactly how I ordered it. Mashed potatoes were fantastic and french onion soup was perfect. If you like brussel sprouts, you’ll love the bourbon maple bacon sprouts! Highly recommend!

First time trying this place and will be the last. They had one bartender/server so service was non existent. Never once asked to refill drinks or asked how the food was. The food extremely overpriced for what it was. You think a place that prides themselves on steaks could have a decent burger, but it was barely better than BK down the street. Which coincidentally has better fries than the little shoestrings Flank serves. My wife’s salad was pitiful. Lettuce was soggy and barely could taste the dressing. The chicken looked like it got ran over on the highway, but at least it wouldn’t of been so dry.
