Been wanting to stop by for a while and finally did. I would have to say, take reviews with what they are, as I’ve seen some critical ones. Mostly because of packaging or greasiness.
I tried the Chicago style because I had never heard of the ingredients used in this style before on a dog. Check out the menu for the diverse toppings on all dishes. Mine had tomato, pickle, mustard, kraut, onion, and peppers (excluded relish) on poppyseed bun. The dog and fries are rolled together in food paper, then put in a store bag. Yes there’s a bit of grease from fries, and the dog isn’t stylized as in a commercial. The fries are different, not as attractive as others, but the flavor was great and not overly greasy. The Chicago Dog was absolutely an amazing flavor bomb. I don’t get that excited about food. However, it exploded with flavor- poppyseed, mustard, onion, beef, kick with pepper. I unwrapped and devoured in my truck unintentionally. It was that awesome. Develop your own opinion on these small businesses. I can’t wait to go back and try Polish and Italian Sausage and the Italian Beef, which if you’ve never had one I would say everyone needs that in their life at least once. New fan and future repeat customer.

He is so kind and informative about everything on the menu. He satisfied one of my cravings right on the spot. Italian beefs hot dogs, hand cut fries…the wholeeeeeeee 9. He got a customer for life now. So glad to have found him! Such a nice place to sit outside as well: Shaded and he has some smooth music playing in the background.

As a sports mom who has eaten more concession stand hot dogs than I care to admit, let me be clear: this is NOT that hot dog. I’ve officially ruined all future tournament food for myself. Authentic Chicago dog, legit Italian beef, and portions that prove someone here actually loves people. Fort Walton Beach, stop what you’re doing and go eat here.

This place is LEGIT. If you want REAL CHICAGO food then this is the place in Florida. Joe, the owner, was so kind to me. I am from the Chi and have been feeling homesick for a while. Joe went out of his way to talk to me and showed me the old school brotherly love we are known for. The food was authentic, delicious, Chicago style grub! Thx Joe!

Fantastic! Not usually something you’d expect to hear in a review about a restaurant that mostly serves specialty hot dogs, but that about sums it up. Quality meats, quality sides and incredibly good food. The people working here, including the owner were all very friendly as well. The amount they give you (at least for the Junkyard Dog that I received) can feed 2 people as well. And lastly, the prices are much cheaper than anywhere else in the Destin/Ft Walton area. You can’t go wrong coming to this place.

love this place, it’s me and my dad’s favorite hot dog place to go to. even though we live in miramar we will occasionally drive out to ft walton to have lunch here because it’s just so good 🙂 i love how the hot dogs are bundled with the french fries it’s the best part!!!! owner is a lovely guy <3
