Delicious Hmong food in a casual but cheerful setting with lovely staff. We had a great time, stuffed ourselves, and would totally go back again gladly. We had chicken hli xiab and pork hli xiab, sticky rice, spring rolls, egg rolls, and white gourd drink and it was all excellent.

The place screams 1980’s “I don’t care what my hair looks like.” The service was great! My first time there and he guided
me toward some fantastic choices. The small bowl of Pho is HUGE! I’ve had better but it’s a solid bowl. The wings were standard but the salt and pepper shrimp, the papaya salad… oh Jesus Lord cumbiya!! If you like salt, brine, heat, fresh you will love those items! Go for lunch. The neighborhood is something to consider.

Honest review. Recommended to come here to this hidden gem by a fellow co-worker.

Kawapow Chicken and Rice comes with a fried egg- kawapow chicken overall sweet and delicious, bamboo is soft, lightly crunchy vegetables and it all just melts in your mouth. I don’t take spicy food very well and the cook accommodated this very well! Very flavorful basic dish without any overwhelming spices!

Pork belly – portion is HUGE! Just wanted to get it to try some of it couple pieces here and there and I took the rest of it home in a to-go container (you help yourself to a to-go box from the metal shelf by the front counter)! Pork belly outside skin is SUPER crunchy and the meat itself is juicy, moist and absolutely PHENOMENAL!

Cream cheese wontons with their sweet red sauce- most generous cream cheese filling I have ever had compared to other restaurants I have been to! Most other places provide so little room for cream cheese, this place hits it right on the jackpot!!

Sprite, nothing too special- all your pop will come from the cooler up front by the counter! Still refreshing to help down the pork belly!

Mango boba tea with black pearls- some of the black pearls in my drink were still slightly frozen and hard which I found slightly confusing and odd (I am used to warm, soft black boba pearls sifted in brown sugar syrup at other places), but the mango boba tea still tasted good nonetheless!

Pretty quiet dine in while I was there, one person was eating pho and another couple came in to also order pho- most of the activity for the business while I was there dining-in was from a lot of take out orders! Music choice was great, not too loud- it was comfortable seating in a booth: No problems!

Also if you want to avoid paying any card fees- make sure to bring and pay with cash! Less stress and less hassle! Left the waitress with the rest of my change as a tip (10%)! Most places nowadays will charge a certain percentage of a fee when you use your card and I guess some people that leave those angry reviews have not caught up with modern times yet with all these rental visa order machines around in many restaurants! (Coming from a mindful former family business employee) All these places everywhere have to pay back for these basic business services somehow!

I usually get delivery from here and have only been to the restaurant once. My go-tos are papaya salad, pakora with pork, purple sticky rice and raw beef (do not attempt bitterness if you are not familiar with the taste of bile). Their brisket used to be crispier and more tender before, but I still order it often because the marinade is nice.

This place is pretty hidden because it is located behind the building facing university avenue.

We ordered the BBq pork belly, steak spring rolls, and the BBq beef briskets. The bbq pork belly taste just like any other asian pork belly you find around town. The steak spring rolls were very fresh, but the steak strips were a little tough. The bbq beef briskets were really good tho, and was the highlight of our meal. The taste of the beef was a little more “gamey” but the spices they put on compliments the game taste very very well, and trust us, we hate game taste lol. The pepper was also very good. One of the better peppers around town. Overall we like this place. Will come back for other dishes soon.

My husband and i decided to try this place this weekend and we do like the food we had ordered. My favorite dish we ordered was the pork padthai. If you had laothia restaurant padthai. This probably the closest tasting dish i had in a long time and you can add spicy to the dish. The pork padthai was very good. My 2nd favorite was the beef brisket. We added medium spicy to it and it was delicious. It wasn’t too sweet, the favors of the beef brisket balanced very well. The raw laab was good too. We did no green onion and no bitter. I like my raw laab still tasting fresh and favor balancing. If you’re in the area, i definitely recommend stopping at this place if you’re looking to have some good food

Rude little girl i interacted with, family owned business need to stop forcing their kids to work for them because theyre gonna get bad review because of their rude no manner kids, just like how im doing right now (giving a bad review). Honestly i dont know if it was their own girl but she was rude and acted like she did not want to be there. Her age range looked from 16-19. Porkbelly is 20$ but dont come with rice. it wasn’t that good to be 20$ especially the pepper….
No utensils or napkins even given as well. First time there and never coming back, Please do better

I did take out and I got an XL House Special Pho & Nam Tok Beef. The pho with or without any condiments was ok but it was a good amount. But the Nam Tok Beef dish was soooo good! I also love their Beef brisket & the Red Curry dishes! (Not pictured) I’ll definitely go there for their Nam Tok Beef, Beef Brisket & the red curry noodle soup!
