Wow! This is a hidden gem serving Brookline and the community of Boston. Great food from several different regions of China . The hand pulled noodles are the star ⭐️ ! Nice staff. Reasonably priced. Card payments are accepted. Clean facilities. Patrons are mostly Asian which is always a great sign. Give this place a try if you’re in the area. We will definitely be going back.

Lan Feast is a great new addition to the Brookline neighborhood. The food is quite authentic, from the beef noodles, cooked dishes and even down to the desserts.

The beef noodle soup had a good rich flavor. I would have preferred the noodles to be more chewy rather than soft but it was still tasty. The braised beef was very dry however. I hope they can improve on that in the future. The scallion pancakes had good scallion flavor but were undercooked. The eggplant with strignbeans dish was very tasty and well cooked. I was quite surprised by their red bean and dates soup dessert. It was not too sweet, had great soft red beans and sweet dates that rounded out that soup nicely. I would definitely order that again.

Service was friendly and efficient, although a bit slow on the Tuesday night that we were there. They seemed very short staffed that night and the restaurant was full of patrons.

We look forward to coming back to sample a lot more.

Lan Feast is definitely worth a try to experience really good quality hand-pulled noodles, especially when it’s cold out! The spicy warming broth really melts away winter shivers.

Food: The noodles are the star! They had a cook bite to them and really grabbed onto the spices in each bowl. I would definitely recommend the extra wide noodles! Also the spice levels felt accurate, but I recommend getting it at least medium as you start to miss out on some flavor milder.

Service: Things were calmer around 5pm when we arrived so staff were able to be extra attentive but once dinner rush came it took a little to get the attention of staff for the check.

Atmosphere: The interior is nice and clean. It’s well lit but the wood furniture keeps it cozy.

Their Lanzhou beef noodles are so good! The broth is rich and the beef is super tender. Make sure you add the chili oil and choose the wide or extra-wide noodles.

Their string beans with garlic are also the best I’ve had in Boston.

We also tried their brown sugar roasted milk tea that’s absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

I’ve visited this restaurant several times, and there are two truly unique things I want to highlight. First, every dish is perfectly prepared and incredibly delicious — it can easily captivate even someone who isn’t familiar with Chinese cuisine. Second — Maggie! Her talent for describing each dish in detail, her subtle ability to sense even the smallest nuances in people, and her skill in creating the perfect atmosphere — she brings magic to every moment, from the greeting to the farewell. She undoubtedly fills this restaurant with energy and makes it special, which keeps bringing me back again and again.

tldr: Chinatown level of delicious Chinese food but in a more upper-scale restaurant setting.

Best lunch combo I’ve EVER had (in the US). I’ve been coming regularly for a little while, even brought friends who literally wrote reviews on the spot, it was so good to them, but I’ve been hesitant because I didn’t know if I should do 4 or 5 stars because sometimes their wide hand pulled noodles can be under-cooked sometimes (it can be more difficult to handle the thicker noodles and they have so many variety of noodle types which is really cool)…but today, after getting the lunch combo, I have no more doubts, definitely a 5-star place!

I got the braised beef with potatoes and cauliflower dishes. The beef is so tender, not too salty, and the potatoes are so soft and divine and well-flavored. The cauliflower is just…wow, I didn’t know cauliflower can taste so good, lol.

One of my other favorite dishes the string beans with garlic…this place REALLY knows how to make vegetables something I love eating, haha. I also love the osmanthus rice wine dessert (literally dreamed about it for days until the next time I visited).

Their service (Maggie is especially wonderful!) and decor have been greatl since the beginning, and it seems they keep adding items and experimenting with food, which I think is awesome.

Definitely worth visiting…and coming back to…I think I went 3 times in one week at one point.

This place is totally worth the 40-minute drive! We come here all the time because the food is just that good. The Lanzhou noodle soup is amazing — super flavorful broth and perfectly chewy noodles. The lamb and chicken skewers are fantastic, and the Xinjiang Big Plate Chicken is a must-order every time! Our whole family loves coming here. The staff are always friendly, the restaurant is clean and cozy, and it’s very kids-friendly too. Definitely one of our favorite spots!

Must-Try Recommendations
1️⃣ Lanzhou Beef Noodles
The thin noodles are incredibly chewy! The broth is so flavorful it’ll blow your mind, and the chili oil is aromatic without being overpowering. My friend said you can tell right away this chili oil isn’t some random store-bought stuff from the supermarket [winking emoji][winking emoji]. One bite and you’ll instantly feel like you’re back home!

Go for the regular thin noodles—they’re the most authentic texture!

2️⃣ Lanzhou Chicken Platter: Generous portion with tons of chicken! But the flavor is just okay—nothing to write home about.

3️⃣ Salt and Pepper Mushrooms: Made with oyster mushrooms (so glad!), but the batter was a bit thick and fried slightly bitter… Misses the authentic version back home

Plus Points
• Staff are super nice! Great service
• Clean and bright environment with modern decor—perfect for a date night. Note: dishes can be a bit salty

They have great noodles! Maybe the best in Boston. I love their regular spicy option, although the one in the picture is not spicy. The noodles are really well made, and the flavor is great. It comes in a perfect size suitable for 1 person.
