I have always been interested in trying this restaurant because I follow them on Instagram. However, I am extremely disappointed with the food I received. Everything was cold and appeared to be old. The chicken was undercooked and tough, the kale was extremely salted, the rasta pasta was decent, but nothing to rave about, the catfish was bland, the macaroni and cheese appeared to be old, and they added cheese on top for some visual appeal. The yams were missing everything that makes them taste like candy yams. I have never seen yams that look like barbecue ribs. This restaurant does not deserve a star. It was a terrible experience.

I saw their promotion for boxes of oxtail for 108 for 15 pounds. The video showed meaty oxtails. I thought it was a great deal and had my cousin go get a box for a family gathering this weekend. We were highly disappointed due to the fact it wasn’t 15 pounds of oxtail and it was very fatty. It was very disappointing experience. Can’t trust everything you see on social media. Lesson learned. I will be providing pictures for proof. I am not to type to make a business look bad but you have to truthful and provide the actual products you advertise. No we didn’t take any oxtail before weighing it.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was incredible fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care and passion. Every dish exceeded expectations. What truly set this place apart, though, was the service. The owner personally came out to introduce himself, made sure everything was perfect, and even helped load our car. That level of hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated. You can tell this business truly values its customers. We’ll definitely be back for more Catering for our events and highly recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food and genuine, heartfelt service!!!

That Rasta pasta was delicious omg
The greens were good
The shrimp was great and juicy
The rice was delicious and flavorful
The catfish was ok not my Jam
The wings I really wanted to like them more but they just were not flavorful enough for me. And I wanted them to be fried more and be crispy. But that’s me I’m sure there are folks who love it the way it is. The whiting I got was delicious also.
But back to the pasta omg it was definitely the star of the plate for me.

It’s just always something. First time I ordered my salmon was completely black on both sides. Second time, trying to give them the benefit of doubt & they cancel my order after I already waited an hour & received updates saying my order was on the way. They canceled because they didn’t even have what I ordered. An hour after they opened. How are you open with no food!? Why are you waiting a hour to cancel?? Just shitty.

The only thing this place has going for them is the food. I can’t over look customers service. That’s how you bring people in and keep them!! If that’s not there then it make it really hard to really give this establishment all their flowers. It’s not nobody fault personally but better training and communication needs to happen at least for the Maplewood location.

My husband went to pick up the order and the lady there sais they charged $6 more because the guy whose name she couldn’t remember is going up on price. That is false advertising. She also said that the price in store was different not my fault as a customer they have lost us as a customer l.

Excellent Food and Great Customer Service, Crabbae is a gem in Maplewood! Order the broiled lobster and honey garlic wings omg it was so good. My mom was so glad I decided to order here, this was definitely a highlight of her trip to Jersey. First time ordering but won’t be my last!
