This place is phenomenal! Loved the rooftop views and the drinks were really great. I came on a Thursday night with a friend and we hadn’t visited before. The espresso martini was really good. We enjoyed some free comedy on the second floor which was an awesome surprise. The service was good and it had a really chill vibe. I think I’ll host my wife’s birthday celebration here. I only wish happy hour prices were early in the afternoon which is when I plan on having her party.

So happy to have gone here with all the rave reviews! But honestly disappointed…. Now I know I got there as they opened but that the time we reserved since my family had a flight to catch! But I was so friendly and happy to be there. No one seemed happy to receive me other than the bartender. Please let me start with I went in with a positive attitude and a pure joy of going to a new place! But honestly… The service was so meh. The server not even happy to be serving but he was kind and nice. The food came out cold … I ordered a steak and egg and man… Cold. They served coffee not even to the middle of the mug. It just felt disheartening with the rave reviews and got such a ok experience. I really love the place and the location but maybe I just went at a bad brunch time… I’m not sure but I hope someone realizes that as their first customer of the day we should some fun and friendliness!

The food is great! The backround music was to loud and made it hard to have a decent conversation without having to talk loud and lean in close to hear. The atmosphere is sparse and nothing special. Not sure if we’ll eat here again because there are so many other restaurants on the same street with great food. It was a good experience but nothing to write home about.

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my 30th birthday and had mixed experiences that I feel management should be aware of.
The cocktail hour on the first floor was genuinely great. The bartender was fun, engaging, and very accommodating, and our group had a wonderful start to the evening. That part of the experience set a high expectation for the rest of the night.
After the cocktail hour, we moved upstairs for dinner, and unfortunately this is where the experience changed. I understand that I did not book the restaurant as a private event and that sharing space with other guests is normal, and I had no issue with that in principle. However, I was not informed in advance that a large baby shower would be taking place at the same time, occupying roughly two thirds of the space. There was no ambient music, and our group was placed tightly into a corner, which made the evening feel awkward and uncomfortable, as if we were taking a small piece out of someone else’s private celebration. The other party themselves were perfectly pleasant, but the lack of communication from the restaurant made this situation difficult.
On top of that, our waiter was dismissive and unpleasant, barely speaking to us and making us feel unwelcome. For a milestone birthday, that was especially disappointing. After about an hour, our group made the decision not to order main courses. Some people had appetizers and drinks, but because we felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, we chose to leave and continue the evening elsewhere.
I want to emphasize that this feedback is not about sharing space or the other event itself. It is about communication and hospitality. Had I been told in advance about the setup, the lack of music, or the seating situation, I could have made an informed decision.
I am grateful for the excellent bartender who gave us such a great start to the evening, but overall the experience fell short and dampened what should have been a special celebration. I hope management takes this feedback seriously so future guests celebrating important occasions feel welcomed and properly informed.

Really great vibes and food. Playlist was . We’re visiting from Arizona (though I used to live in this area but hadn’t been to this restaurant), and this place was actually recommended by ChatGPT! Great recommendation overall, for a teenager and parents. Our food was great, and the service while a bit slow was also very good. Would recommend to anyone visiting Adams Morgan.

We got drinks on the rooftop and dinner in the dining hall one floor down. The roof would be SO much better if uncovered… the view from the dinner floor was beautiful – I love the huge windows. The vibe and atmosphere is AMAZING! The service was veryyyyy slow and the food/drinks were good but not amazing – but will 100% be back! The happy hour was solid!

DAILY happy hour 5 to 7 with wine, beer, cocktails, and food! Then bonus happy hour time from 7 to close with other stuff. Check out the picture of their happy hour specials I posted in this review. The food we ate for $8 was the BEST food we ate during our trip to DC. They put so much effort into such inexpensive dishes. Same goes for their cocktails! I heard they are under new management and these specials are to bring people in. So get there now before you can’t get in the door.

Our group of 8 had a great time at Roofers Union. Despite our large party, we were able to get seated fairly quickly. The rooftop was closed for renovations but was expected to open the following week. Even so, the dining area has huge windows overlooking Adams Morgan which sets a nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and provided quick service as well as good vibes. I had the fish and chips which were delicious and the all day happy hour was a nice surprise. Overall, good vibes, great food and friendly staff make this a place I would happily return.

The rooftop bar is a great experience. We enjoyed the cocktails and the view of Adams Morgan. The crowd here was fairly young, although there was a range of folks in their 30s and 40s. I’ll be coming back with a friend.
