I’ve been coming here for years and this use to be me and my wife’s spot. I noticed the change the last few times I ordered our food. The amount and taste has declined. I have ordered here hundreds of times. All I’ve gotten in the pass was fresh and great tasting food. Now the food tastes like it coming from a can now. I chalked it up the last two times and just thought maybe a new cook. I have called the last few times just to be told they’re out of items. I try to support small business especially ones that provide great service or food. I’m not sure what going on but this is not the norm in any way. I don’t want anyone to think this is not a great establishment because it is. I have just been disappointed the last few times I’ve ordered. I usually don’t post anything but when I drive an hour to get our food. I just wish it taste and look like it use too.

Review straight from the parking lot food is delicious. As a foodie , I was not disappointed. Being from savannah, I’m always looking for some good soul food and this place nailed it! Y’all this food is GOOD! Can’t wait to come back for the pork chop next. Ps. I’m missing one cornbread muffin from this photo, it didn’t stand a chance lol. Delicious cookies too

It’s the pork chops that be calling me back. Tried them fried and smothered. Think I prefer them in that gravy. Went too late the last time, and they were out of that fantastic cornbread, my bad. My favorite sides are the Mac, yams, and blackeyed peas. Reasonable prices and convenient location. Take out only.

My wife and I were shopping at Treasure Hunt next door. We wanted a snack and saw Carzells Kitchen. It’s not much to look at but the young lady who took our order was super nice. We ordered hot dogs and fries. Hot dogs were great. Both the hot dogs and the buns were grilled adding some extra flavor. The bun was so soft and very fresh. Fries were good. Two meals and a drink for less than $20
The lady taking orders noticed people waiting and brought seats out for us to sit.
We will be back to try something new when we are back in the area

I usually eat here 2-3 times a month if not weekly so it was disheartening to go this past week and spend almost $40 on 2 plates only for every item on the plate, with the exception of the black eyed peas, being so salty that both plates were inedible. However, I realize that sometimes the way we feel can also affect our cooking so I gave them grace and called to voice my concerns, they apologized and made it right, thus the reason I gave a 4 star and not a 2 because when businesses make customers unhappy, it is their job to make it right and I’d like to think that as a regular customer, it’s the least they could’ve done. I was satisfied.
Despite this one mishap with the salt, out of over a year’s worth of me patronizing their business, because of them making it right, I’d still go back patron the business. I recommend the collards, liver, fried porkchops (despite them being thin), fried chicken and the yams. The yams are .50 extra. I’m not a fan of their fried cabbage as it’s too crunchy for my liking or their Mac n cheese but if you love collards (I think they are canned but they hook them up good enough that I don’t mind), black eyed peas, and yams, I recommend.
I’ve never eaten any other meats so I can’t tell you about any of those but I can almost, with the exception of this last time, count on them to have great porkchops, chicken and liver.
They have about 9 other sides to choose from with some being extra .50: mashed potatoes, potato salad (extra. 50), cole slaw, fried cabbage (a little too crunchy for my liking), fried okra & mac n cheese (both an extra .50), green beans, French fries and rice and gravy.
FYI: it is a walk up establishment and everything is cooked to order, so there is no “table wait time” so know that before you go but I’d say the food is worth a 15 min wait.

Really delicous food! The portions are generous and one plate is good for two people to share. The pork chops are so tender! I don’t know how they do it, but dang, they treated sooo goood! The restaurant itself is small, so you have no place to really wait for your food, though there is seating out front outside but not the best option in Georgia summers or our chilly winters. Best to call oreder ahead and pick it up rather than order at the counter.

I gave this restaurant 3 stars because, while it could have been better, I understand we ordered close to closing time which might explain the issues. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful, but the food we received was disappointing.
I had ordered a 2-piece whiting meal with fried okra and mac n cheese, but was told they only had 1-piece whiting with french fries available. I was fine with that and added two cornbread muffins to go with it.
However, when I got home and opened my order, I was greeted with a bunch of small unattractive pieces of fish that look like chicken livers or gizzards–nothing like the whole piece of whiting I was expecting. The fish smelled old and fishy, and most of it had an edible black fish skin that I had to remove to even make it halfway decent. Only one piece tasted like fresh fish, which made me think this restaurant could have been much better under different circumstances.
Nowhere on the menu did it mention anything about “fish nuggets” or “fish pieces”–it was misleading, and I would have preferred to be told they were out of whiting rather than received what felt like scraps from the bottom of the bag. The mentality seemed to be, “it’s late so whatever–we’ll just give her this.”
On the plus side the french fries and cornbread muffins were good, so there is some potential here. I would be willing to give this place another try, but next time I’ll come earlier in the day when, hopefully, the kitchen is stocked and the staff has more energy to care about the quality of the food.

Customer service was A-1 greeted with a smile we even talked about my hoodie and different bands. I had the pork chops, Mac and cheese, rice and gravy , I added a side of greens. The pork chops were good you can have them grilled, smothered, or fried and you can choose your seasoning lemon pepper, salt , pepper and one other I forgot but it’s listed . I put one between two pieces of white bread with mayo when I got home and was very satisfied. The rice and gravy was bland but I was able to spruce it up. Greens were canned wish they were real collard greens . Mac and cheese could have been a little better but it all tied together. I will be back to try other items .

So first time trying this place and I’ll say it’s just OK. I had the wings with macaroni and collards. The first problem is I’m 100 % sure these are not fresh greens. I’m sure they are from a can, they taste like Margaret Holmes Greens. I eat collards all the time and I know the difference between canned collards and real ones. This macaroni and cheese was not good at all It tasted like box macaroni that they put some shredded cheese on top of. I couldn’t eat it. The wings were great, loved the taste of the chicken. So overall I felt it was just OK. The price isn’t too bad but I don’t wanna pay fresh soul food prices for canned food. That chicken though… It’s really good.
