We actually ate here twice in three days and Branden did an awesome job taking care of us. The first time we had a group of 18 and the second time we had a group of 36+. Both times the service was spot on and everyone enjoyed their food. The owner came out and talked to us during our second outing and was telling us a little about the history of the restaurant. The fried chicken was outstanding. The white meat was very juicy and very tender. It’s worth every penny.

i recently visited Sweet Southern Comfort restaurant at 756 Baldwin Ave, in Defuniak Springs, FL. I entered this beautifully decorated restaurant and was promptly greeted and I chose a seat at the bar counter. The same person was also my server and took care of my drink and food order without a problem. I ordered the black and blue burger and enjoyed the slaw as part of the burger. Based on the crowd there, it’s the place to go!

New to the area and stopped in after walking around the lake (which I ALSO recommend). Overall I had a great experience here, saw some other reviews and was a bit skeptical but I have zero complaints. Food and everything was great but I also saw the manager take care of the officers check that were eating and thought that was awesome they take care of the first responders (as my husband is an EMT) . After witnessing that I’ll happily be spending a lot of time here.

My best friend and I came in for some drinks and appetizers and we loved it. I got the blood orange margarita and she got jo’s drink. And they were both SO GOOD. Our server was super funny and nice, she explained what things could be more filling than the other so we didn’t order too much or too little so our service was great. Noticed they had some pretty hefty options on wine so we’ll def come back with our group! Overall, no complaints!

I ordered the smash burger with blue cheese and bacon, with a side of fries- holy smokes, that may have been the best burger I’ve ever had in my life! It was sooooo good! The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the bathroom was super clean! I also really enjoyed the charming, small town atmosphere! Overall, it was a phenomenal experience! I would recommend this restaurant to ANYONE! Love, love, LOVE! (Only edited ’cause I found a typo!! Accidentally forgot to mention the bacon on my burger- this review is still for the day before Thanksgiving!!)

I got the scallop special and it was AMAZING, it’s hard to find food in the area that taste like a home cooked meal. We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar with G, who had an amazing personality , didn’t mind answering our numerous questions about the menu (HAHA) and even showed us the historic artifacts around the place. You could tell all the staff really enjoy working here as they were all super friendly and made us feel at home. Would definitely recommend this place if your looking for some diverse southern meals and want to feel like you’re right at home!!!

This place is awesome Best grits I’ve ever had would definitely come here again The waffle wasn’t bad neither and the coffee was pretty good down side to the coffee was they put it in a styrofoam cup and I like to drink my coffee out of a coffee cup I would like to head a choice on that looks a little better too in a restaurant like this but I would definitely eat here again

Unique local restaurant. The food was amazing. The fried green tomatoes were on point with their sauce. The fried chicken and chicken in my ceaser salad was delicious. Would be a great place for a nice date night. But also low key to pop in and just hang out.

We arrived at 5:11pm yesterday (6/24/25) with a party of 5 and was sat by one of the big windows. We had an amazing waitress (I wish i caught her name because she was truly amazing). She was on top of drinks and food. The atmosphere is nice, inviting, and simple. Will be coming here again!!!!

Arrived without reservation but seated quickly. Waited for about 15 minutes to put in a drink order. Seemed disorganized for just opening for the night. While waiting for our server, I read past reviews of this restaurant. Our served arrived, and orders were placed. I started my stopwatch after the server left, hoping it wouldn’t be long. The restaurant was appealing, and the atmosphere was attractive. There were about 10 other tables with guests.

At about 33 minutes, our food was served. I ordered southern fried chicken with sweet potato casserole and onion rings. My wife ordered a chicken Cesar salad. The food looked amazing and tasted the same. My food could have been a touch warmer, but it wasn’t cold. The salad tasted amazing, and the chicken was surprisingly seasoned.

I will definitely return and try other items on the menu and suggest to others!
