Had too many nights of fish and chips, wanna switch up with some Indian cuisine.
Their curries were good, not as heavy spiced and mild for children to enjoy.

Delicious Indian food with many gluten-free options and a clearly marked menu.

This was an interesting Indian Restaurant. The location was clean and nicely decorated. The service was friendly although a bit slower than you would expect a normal Indian restaurant to take. The food was different. The Somosas were good although a bit spicier than one would normally expect. The chutneys that came with were very good but not thick. The rice was also very good and typical basmati. The butter chicken curry was not typical Indian. The color was very bland and although tasted good, was not what I would consider Indian cooking. Also, the Naan was not Naan. Was obviously not made in a tandoori oven nor was it levened. The bread reminded me more of a consistency of a biscuit with layers. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine, do not eat here. If you want Indian like cuisine, then this is a good option within Juneau.

After dining here a couple of times, I have come to the conclusion that it is my favorite Indian food in all of Juneau. (Honestly, best I’ve had anywhere) The owner is super nice and added her own spin to popular dishes. If you ask for hot, it will be hot, so if you are white, be careful! The chicken tika is so tender that you can tell the chicken receives special treatments in the back when nobody is looking. Possibly a 24-hour marinate, or who knows, maybe it’s been wined and dined before lights out. I would write more, but you all are hungry and found where you need to go, so get to spice… You will thank me later.

If you are staying at the Baranof, this wonderful restaurant basically beckons you in, it’s right across the street. Relaxed atmosphere and excellent food. Good service. Have eaten here many times and enjoyed it each time.

We ordered, butter chicken and roti. The chicken comes with a small portion of rice as a side and it is enough for two people who are not starving. The food is below average and it is not authentic. One order for the Roti is charged $8.95 and although ‘8’ pieces come in one order, each piece is a quarter of one roti. Portion size is not their problem but the most disappointing part is it is not Indian ‘roti’ at all. It is doughy, fried and tastes like thick hard shelled tacos with ghee (clarified butter). The ‘butter chicken’ does not taste bad but it is definitely NOT butter chicken. There may not be other alternative of an Indian restaurant in DT Juneau but ho early, there are many other authentic alternatives in other cuisines.

Worst Indian food I’ve ever had without a doubt. I didn’t think it was even possible for me to dislike Indian food, it’s my absolute favorite and I live in rural Alaska and don’t get it nearly as often as I would Iike, so when I do, it’s really hard not to enjoy. This was just weird and flavorless and poor quality. I would be shocked if there’s someone cooking here who is actually Indian. I’m so sorry Juneau.

Amazing food! We went at lunch and had the pleasure of meeting the owner. She was an electrical engineer and changed careers to open her own restaurant and share her grandmother’s authentic Indian recipes. The dishes are phenomenal, authentic Indian food that you won’t find anywhere else, and the portions were plentiful. Unfortunately, I didn’t take a photo until we had ravaged everything, but got one nonetheless. Highly recommend!
