There’s really not many Haitian restaurants in the PNW so when we saw this one recently we knew we had to check it out. This place has some of the most delicious Haitian food I’ve had. The pikliz was just the right amount of spicy, the pork was wonderfully fried (not too greasy) and you can tell the restaurant puts a lot of care into their food. Highly recommend this spot!

Incredible catering experience!
Every dish was delicious. They had wonderful gluten free, and vegan options. The food was so fresh and looked beautiful in the trays. The owner made the whole ordering and pick-up such a pleasurable experience.

As a person of Caribbean descent, this place is such a blessing to me! I moved to Portland a few years ago and have been looking for good Caribbean food. This is now my go-to place when I’m missing traditional Caribbean flavors. The manager is always extremely friendly and welcoming. You can tell he is passionate about sharing his culture and making sure everyone has a great experience!

I can’t say enough about this place. Amazing food, caring staff, and a warm, stylish setting. We ordered all over the menu from apps, to drinks, to big main courses and all of it was fantastic. Food fans in Portland are in for a treat, especially if you love Caribbean flavors!

I went there twice during a Wekend with some friends. The first time my friends and I enjoyed (Griot, Legumes, diri a djon djon, poison griillè) the food was delicious, wonderful service, nice comfy atmosphere, I enloyed the Haitian music too. That is why I went back the second time. They were patient with me and their great staff made is easy to get some delicious Haitian patès. The owner was such a goods host.

Seriously, THIS is the best Caribbean restaurant in Portland, and one of the best restaurants in Portland PERIOD. The food is absolutely delicious, I’ve tried both their food cart and now the brick-and-mortar and I haven’t had a bad dish yet! I keep falling deeper in love with Haitian cuisine and TapTap is one of the main reasons.
Outside of their delicious and well-priced/portioned menu, the space is beautiful! A great spot for a date or catching up with friends. I believe they often hosts events too – they look fun though I haven’t been to one yet.
The owners are also super kind, down to earth, and so helpful if this is your first venture into Caribbean or Haitian food. Don’t worry, you’ll enjoy it!! And I’m gonna need a bottle of that hot sauce for home!!!

We loved our food, drinks, service, and experience here! The Hatian Plate was incredible, as was the Taptap Cup Bannann Peze. Order the Banana Old Fashioned. And the Hibiscus Cocktail.
This is a Haitian run authentic restaurant with authentically cooked Haitian food that is absolutely delicious, with wonderful drinks and staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience! We will be back and highly recommend this place.

We’d never had Haitian food before and didn’t know what to expect. It was fabulous: an amazing interplay of flavors, textures, and colors like nothing we’ve ever tasted. We started with several apps and finished with the grilled goat, charred on the outside and juicy underneath. The taro fritters were a revelation, tempura-like and savory-smooth inside. There was heat in some things, just the right amount to offset richness and make each bite interesting. Our host could not have been more engaging and, like many great restaurants, Mamma performed magic in the kitchen. They are still very new, so go before they are discovered, while you can still get a table!
