Hands down my favorite Thai and Sushi restaurant! For the last couple years, my boyfriend and I have been frequent diners at Saao. The variety of drinks are fun, especially my go-to, Peach on the Beach and the food is always consistent, flavorful, and fresh. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert! I highly recommend the toasted coconut ice cream.
While the food speaks for itself, what makes Saao better than the rest is the service and hospitality. PK, Tiffany, Aye, and Andy make us feel like family. They are all warm, welcoming, friendly, and have made every single one of our dining experiences memorable. Whether we get a quick bite at the bar, dine in with family and friends, or pick up our order to go, Saao always exceeds our expectations.
A big shout out to PK, who we look forward to seeing every time and Andy, an exceptional sushi chef, who always delivers quality and innovative sushi.

They have happy hour M-F from 5 to 7pm. I was able to sneak in and took advantage of the $11 Roll of the Day (Tiger for Monday) a $4 Sapporo draft, a Gyoza app and some tasty Tom Yum Shrimp soup and Yellowtail Jalepeno (no HH there ). Also, except for the fish the Yellowtail Jalepeno is not flavored like Nobu, good just not Nobu flavoring IYKYK. Unsure if it was the weather or the time or the location, but the restaurant seemed quiet. Especially given deserved high marks. Would definitely visit again.

I took my daughter and her friends to this restaurant. It has a very clean and family-friendly environment. I’m not very familiar with Thai food and asked questions from the server for which I was not given enough answer and ordered somehow. The food was delicious but portion size, didn’t match the price. The part that made me upset was that each of us spent about $25 and when one of us asked for a glass of soda refill, they charged us another glass for some $3 without even telling us that the refill will be charged. In full service restaurants, refill is mostly free considering that they fill half of the glass with ice. I spoke with the server but she insisted and her big smile had vanished! We won’t go there again.

Saao Thai is a no nonsense great thai food place
Quick service, nice quantities and tasty food. Great option for grabbing a quick bite that fills the stomach without breaking the wallet
We ordered the
Panang Curry: very flavorful. Felt the curry was a bit too watery for my liking but still a great dish
Saao Noodles: amazing choice, can’t go wrong with this
Mango Sticky Rice: Great dish, fresh mango and perfect balance of sweetness on the rice

The staff at Saoo is so kind and I have had great experiences when even just popping in to pickup takeout. Takeout is fast and they have a timer to estimate pickup if you don’t set a later time.
You can’t go wrong with any of the rolls. My go to is the Crunchy Spicy Tuna, but I also recommend the Hawaiian roll (if you like shrimp) or the Sweet Potato & Avocado Roll (toned down with no spice but solid flavors and pairs well with anything).
The Tom Yum soup is customizable with your choice of veggie or protein, and a range of spiciness you can choose from. My Tom Yum came with full mushrooms (likely shiitake) and lots of flavor. Chicken fits perfectly with the herbs and spices.

Always have an amazing experience at Saao Thai – we eat here several times a month. Love their Thai and Japanese food; service is always excellent as well. I’ve never felt weird bringing my child here, they are super welcoming of him (he loves sushi). Nice mix of local crowd and after work folks usually. Faves are the California roll, Vegas roll, shrimp tempura (really fresh, not pre frozen) and tom kha gai. We also always get the coconut ice cream if they have it w/fried bananas. Highly recommend – and I am picky about sushi!

Had no idea this restaurant was here and while the outside is plain the inside is gorgeous, lots of calming decor and running water. The food was good too, we got chicken satay which was good, the sushi was decent, and the broth for my father’s tom kha guy was perfect however the chicken and mushrooms in it were lacking in that same flavor as though they had not had time to absorb it. May or may not come again
P.S. a side of rice was $3 which in my opinion is a tad steep

The other reviewers were right about this place. Went during their happy hour and got their old fashioned ($7) takoyaki ($5) and calamari ($5). Can’t beat those prices especially around here. Ordered their drunken noodles. It’s a tad sweet for me but then I prefer pad Thai.
This place is tucked away next to the melting pot so it’s easy to miss. However, worth the stop if you’re in the area

My party of 3 ordered different things but we were unimpressed by the food. Not bad, but also not great despite the nice ambiance and good reviews. We came around 9:10 pm and they were closing at 10 pm. We were informed that the kitchen would close at 9:30 pm, so we placed orders before then. I felt rushed the entire time, which is really bothersome; they had us out the door before 10. I don’t think we’ll be back.
