On March 4, 2026. I was looking to buy some food from this place for the first time. I called and placed an order. My order was taken by a gentleman on the phone. He said my order will be done in 15 minutes Prior to our phone conversation. Once I have arrived at the restaurant, I told him that I was a caller that Ordered food. The guy behind the counter looked at me with googly eyes and puzzled look like he doesn’t know what I’m talking about. He seemed to be intoxicated. Speech was slurred and he was very unprofessional overall. Come to find out my food was never made. I ended up waiting an extra 30 minutes To the point, I got upset and told him just to cancel my whole order because I am not satisfied with the service here. Remind you that the restaurant was never busy. There was only about two customers in here. I walked out in disbelief And thinking to myself, this restaurant needs to shut down. Come to find out as I’m scrolling on Facebook. I see an article about this restaurant regarding drug bust And that a 55-year-old man was arrested from this restaurant the very next day. It blows my mind because karma always comes back. All I wanted was some decent food to eat!!

I hired your company to provide catered food for an event, and the service fell far below acceptable standards.
The food arrived approximately 35 minutes late and was transported on an open flatbed truck. Upon arrival, the food was cold and had to be reheated. The mac and cheese was old and burnt, and the rice was also burnt. We were forced to salvage what we could and reheat food in a microwave in order to serve our guests.
Carlos, the owner, misrepresented the agreed delivery time and later placed blame on the manager regarding the delay. He was present at the event and fully aware of the scheduled time the guests were to be served. When concerns were raised, he made excuses for the poor service and behaved in a dismissive and unprofessional manner.
I later explained the situation to the owner, Terrisena. Rather than taking accountability, she also made excuses and acknowledged that the company does not have the proper equipment to deliver or cater hot food. I requested a partial refund due to the issues encountered, but I never received a callback or any refund.
This experience was extremely disappointing, especially when trying to support a local business. A lack of preparation, professionalism, and accountability has no place in the catering industry. I would not recommend this company for catered events.

5 stars all the way around great comfortable restaurant and the chef is amazing huge shout out to chef Los the service was amazing and his staff was very nice. Definitely best restaurant in Poughkeepsie hands down. Great prices.

Mixed feelings about this spot. On the positive side, the food was solid – not amazing, but well-executed and tasty. The setting was nice and we had a pleasant time. Unfortunately, the prices really hurt the overall experience. Paying $40 for liver and rice felt excessive, especially when you have been preparing and eating it all of your life and liver generally costs less than $5.00 per pound. I might return if they adjust their pricing, but for now it’s hard to see the value.

Our family has tried this place twice. The food can be good but the service and amount of time it takes to get the food is very bad. The first time we had the young daughter as our waitress which did not go well. We were hoping things improved since our last visit but it didn’t. Definitely do not get a burger from here. The fried chicken, okra and oxtails are excellent. Maybe just stick to take out.

Experience started out great. Food arrived on time, mostly hot(I attributed the mac and cheese to not being hot enough because it was right underneath the banana pudding which was cold). Food tasted pretty good, carrots and celery were undercooked, but turkey was cooked all the way through. It needed more seasoning, though. Still, I was pretty happy with it until I discovered there was rice underneath my turkey. I was confused since I didn’t order rice. While I was looking at the rice I realized there was a whole twist tie in my food that I had been eating. I understand being a small business but if I hadn’t realized there was rice in my plate I would have probably have started eating the twist tie.

I was skeptical because of some of the reviews. But, I’m really glad I gave it a chance. I had the brisket sandwich, and it was perfect. I could taste the light, mesquite smoke flavor, the sauce, and the flavor of the meat. I usually find most BBQ places over compensate with either too much smoke (meat tastes like an ash tray) or too much sauce. (can’t taste anything except Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce) I was very happy and impressed that this was not the case. The fries were crisp, and the coleslaw was delicious. REALLY great value.
