I had the toasted ravioli as a starter which was good however the fillet mignon I ordered was just way too salty. I asked if it could be re-prepared a second time and this was also really salty. I didn’t want to send it back a second time plus I spent $50 on it so I ate it but it was equally as salty as the first one they brought over. I want to say maybe they over salted all their steaks that they were to prepare that day but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. The fries were great though!

The Main House was a most fabulous “woops”. My boyfriend and I were trying to make reservations at a different restaurant in which we had recently dined and enjoyed but we couldn’t remember the name. So we searched for outdoor dining in St. Charles. We thought this was it and made a reservation. As we were walking to our intended destination we passed The Main House and thought “oh, this looks good” and quickly realized our mistake. Reservation was definitely necessary to secure outdoor dining but there appeared to be room inside. I ordered the beet and butternut squash salad. My boyfriend got the wedge. They had some delicious sounding specials but I took a risk and ordered the filet. I’m incredibly picky about how my steak is prepared but I had a feeling this was a good bet. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was served by kitchen staff so it never sat under a warmer and wait time was minimal even on a busy night. This was the absolute best steak I have ever had in my life. The outside was seared with just a hint of grill char and the inside was the stuff of steak dreams. Absolute perfection. My date got the Halibut special and was equally impressed. We got the flourless chocolate torte with cherries for dessert and immediately added this restaurant to a new regular favorite. I’m learning that St. Charles fine dining has more choices than I thought but The Main House should be on everyone’s must try list.

Stopped here for a business lunch on a beautiful day. Great atmosphere, busy on a Friday afternoon. There was only one server working outside so service was a little slower but she was doing her best so I am not going to take a star away for that but did want to call it out. The toasted ravioli was awesome. I got the soup of the day which was a sausage potato soup that was tasty. For my lunch meal I did the beet and butternut squash salad with chicken and it was very tasty. We sat outside and the whole surrounding area is very cute! First time in St.Charles, MO so this was a treat.

Our boss brought us here for a company dinner. She raved about the risotto. There is plenty of outdoor seating. It is a charming restaurant. The inside is beautiful. The have a good menu. Everyone is our group ordered a salad. The beet salad I order was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it. I took a que from my boss. I ordered their red wine risotto. It was wonderful. Several others in out group had fish. I had their chicken. Another friend had pork loin. The restaurant is definitely worth going to visit.

A good friend of mine and I went here for dinner to catch up on life. The food was great. We ordered appetizers, highly recommend the cream cheese and compote appetizer, and it was intricately finished and delicious. The main course was fantastic steak, Australian Wagyu Ribeye and Filet, and its some of the best steak we have ever had. We had the coconut creme pie for dessert, which the recipe dates back to the 1800’s and is a classic to to enjoy.
The service was superb. Our server, Tequilla, was prompt, dependable, kind, and made excellent recommendations. She recited the specials and desserts to us from memory and you can tell she knew a lot about her restaurant. That shows a lot of pride and investment into her work.
Overall, I highly recommend The Main House when you’re looking for a great environment, fantastic food, excellent service. Be ready to spend $50-100 a person, but definitely worth it.

Our bartender Sara was absolutely incredible during the Halloween event last week. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel welcome the second you sit down. We had some oysters & a couple cocktails; an espresso martini & a cucumber gimlet which both were spot-on
Honestly, I wish I hadn’t already been full when we stopped in, because everything coming out of that kitchen looked amazing. Even just the two drinks & oysters were enough to make me want to come back next time I’m in town.

Cozy little spot, stopped in on my way across the country and had some amazing food. Ordered the roasted half chicken, came with garlic mash and broccoli and everything was very well seasoned, perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

I went here for the first time last night and one of the specials which was a scallop/pasta dish. The scallops were a little gray and chewy… They served four large scallops with the pasta and I only ate one because they didn’t seem right. There was also a handful of sun-dried tomatoes, which was just too much for the dish. I didn’t say anything at the restaurant because it was my friend‘s birthday and I didn’t want to be one of “those people” but for a $50 plate, it was absolutely not worth it. Not a very good first impression in my opinion. These are the refrigerated leftovers the next day I was about to reheat, but unfortunately, I am going to throw them away to be safe.
