The Z Club was an unexpected and chance encounter with some fantastic live jazz in a friendly tucked away bar in Joshua Tree. It was so good we went back for more! On Friday, Susan (the owner) played sax with her quartet. It was the standards (which I love) with a twist (which I love even more). We came back for more on the Saturday night – what a treat to hear The Wayne Cobham Trio. Cocktails and service by Dylan were great. Even though Joshua Tree is a long way for us to travel, I’m planning a return visit. Thank you Susan!

The owner is very rude if you DO come here avoid her at all costs. Also the new woman bar tender makes people SO uncomfortable talking about personal things saying how hot she is? Not only that her drinks are awful I must say that the gentleman bartender with a beard is amazing and SO nice, don’t ever lose him, was planning to be a regular after 3-4 visits but now I will not be back and I don’t think anyone else should.

We had an amazing time listening to jazz and sitting at the bar for adult beverages. Very cozy atmosphere and I would definitely come back.

If you’re looking for a spot that oozes local charm and avoids the cookie-cutter feel of chain bars, Z Club in Joshua Tree is an absolute gem. The moment you step in, you’re welcomed by a warm, laid-back atmosphere that feels like a little slice of New Orleans right in the desert.

The live jazz performances are the highlight of this place. It’s clear the musicians pour their hearts into every note, creating a vibe that’s intimate, soulful, and utterly captivating. Whether you’re a jazz aficionado or just someone who appreciates good live music, this is the spot to be.

Another big plus is the ample parking, which is a game-changer for vanlifers like me. If you’re living on the road, it’s refreshing to find a place that accommodates you without any hassle, letting you enjoy your night without worrying about your rig.

The bartender here is also fantastic! friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about their craft. They mix up some seriously great drinks that pair perfectly with the vibe of the place. It’s the kind of spot where you feel like you’re among friends, even if it’s your first time.

Z Club is a must-visit for anyone passing through Joshua Tree. Support local, soak up the music, and let the New Orleans-inspired charm take you away for a night. It’s a rare find in a world of big-chain sameness!

Super small and just what I don’t know. It definitely suffers from high desert syndrome…everything closes early…lol maybe an afternoon spot.
