Amazing. Spent 7 hours here on Sunday afternoon/night. I was trying to understand why American football is better then my German National fubball team. After a couple of bloodies, a few pitcher of hamms and a round of Portland’s best wings I now understand. The Klo is clean enough to make a Chicago Bear inside. Go packers.

I give it 3.5 stars. For what some call the best wings in Portland, I was quite disappointed. While they were crispy, there was not enough sauce on them and they were quite dry. I can see how they have the potential to be really good (the crispiness!) but they just didn’t hit the mark today. The buffalo sauce flavor was simple but good (tastes like Frank’s plus butter only- but with basically no heat. My six year old ate multiple without having to drink too much water. This might have been due to the lack of sauce on the wings though). The barbecue wings were a little too sweet for my taste (but I feel this was about most bbq sauces)

Other items:
– two brick burgers – pretty good and flavorful. Probably the best thing we got. Wish them came with fries without extra charge
– beer battered cod – disappointing. Too much batter and the fish itself was quite mushy also. We didn’t even finish it
– beer battered fries – nothing special. Costs $3 extra to sub fries for the chips that come with the cod.

NOTE: they no longer serve the tavern style pizza

Jerry’s Tavern is a local treasure in far NW Portland where the residential area borders the industrial area. A Midwest themed sports bar, Jerry’s Tavern has plenty of TVs with a focus on Midwest teams. It’s always at capacity for Bears and Packers games. But if the inside is busy, there’s ample outdoor seating and two outdoor TVs.

When it comes to libations, there are four draft options and plenty of domestic and imported cans and bottles. Of the draft, one handle is dedicated to a rotating seasonal beer from the Stevens Point Brewery. For cocktails we recommend the Bloody Mary that arrives with a pony bottle of Miller High Life. Very nice touch. And don’t sleep on the Wisconsin Old Fashioned or a shot of Chicago’s favorite Malört!

Food is simple at Jerry’s Tavern. That said, make sure to order the cheese curds or the cheeseburger. So good!

Cheers to a great Portland bar!

Not sure why it’s taken me this long to post, but some of these images are from the soft opening a year ago as well as more recent ones. Great place, great people and great staff… have had way too many buckets of the highlife here before games, after games and to watch games. Both beer and hard alcohol available. Space looks like that weird neighbor that moved here from the Midwest only to decorate his basement to remind him of home…

TERRIFIC TAVERN

Dive bars have been sadly going out of style and I’m stoked to report that this new spot is a welcome addition to the scene. It’s owned by folks from Wisconsin who have a house divided between the Bears and Packers.

It was PACKED at 3:30 on a Friday and it was nice to see.

They’re still working out their food menu, but what they have is FANTASTIC. Easily in the top 10 bar burgers in Portland.

Excellent service, reasonable prices, and ample street parking.

Owners have hearts of GOLD!

Come check it out!

UPDATE
Jerry’s built a beautiful bar patron community and it’s obviously due to his vibe.

Thanks Jerry for making a Midwest vibe bar in the heart of Portland!!!

Bear Down Chicago Bears!!

My husband and I recently discovered Jerry’s Tavern and are now hooked. This place is the spot to go if you are a Bears fan. The bartenders are great and very efficient. They have a good amount of televisions in the bar as well as two outside.

Jerry’s has all sorts of fun signs and sports gear hung on every square inch of the walls and ceiling. Seems like the bar has been up and running since the 70’s but I belive it’s only been there a few years.

The only criticism I have for Jerry’s is the food selection. I don’t eat meat and can’t eat cheese. The only thing I can typically eat are the fries. The fries are super tasty but sometimes if I’m there for a long time I want something more substantial.

Jerry’s The pride and joy of Portland for Bears fans!

Hands down best sports bar in Portland. Portland is not big on sports bars. We should have more like Jerry’s. Unique old school Midwest bar. Went there to support my friend who’s a Bears fan. Bears beat the Eagles and the place was crazy! One of the best sports bar experiences I’ve had. Go Seahawks!!!!

Was a great place to watch a game! They had the volume on, was pretty packed but not too big. The wings were surprisingly pretty good and nothing took too long to come out. Fun environment.

Love this bar. Best cheese curds in the PNW. Reminded me of the ones back in Minnesota. The hamms is cold and the people are NICE.

the best spot to have a nervous breakdown while your team is playing. Ranessa’s Bloody Marys are to die for and snacks are great! It’s all you want from a sports bar and more!
