Reviews
The ambience and location are beautiful, but the food didn’t match the expectations. The Mixed Grill Platter ($22.99) had small portions, no bread, and didn’t feel worth the price. The Sharjah Shake ($9.99) tasted like a basic banana shake, though the staff kindly offered a complimentary mango lassi. The Magic Special Falooda ($12.99) was also below expectations.
Overall: Great atmosphere, but not good value for money. Food quality needs improvement.
Final Thoughts
A restaurant can’t succeed on ambience alone — good food and value for money matter just as much. While the service gesture was appreciated, the overall dining experience did not justify the pricing.
I’m sure the team has potential to do better, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t return.
The South Indian food was authentic and delicious—served traditionally on a banana leaf with incredible attention to detail. Every dish felt fresh, flavorful, and comforting.
What truly set this place apart was the customer service. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. They surprised me with a beautiful birthday celebration, which made the entire experience so special and personal.
This is not just a restaurant—it’s a place that makes you feel valued. Highly recommend.
Now… the schezwan noodles I dont know if the seasoning clocked out early but surprisingly tasteless like literally no spice no salt no schezwan sauce no seasoning.
We ordered the falooda and disappointing It looked promising but the taste was very bad.
The Chicken Lolipop on the menu showed the classic lollipop… what came out was 4 jumbo sized drumstick. Huge
Good service, good dosa but the rest of the food definitely needs improvement.
The menu felt like it had 1000 items. They’d do so much better if they just focused on a few things and perfected them instead of spreading themselves thin. The prices are high, but the quality doesn’t match
Service was very slow, but the space itself is really pretty and the food was worth the wait. Overall a good experience, just something to keep in mind if you are in a rush.
Would still recommend trying it.
The mysore dosa was phenomenal: beautifully golden without being greasy, a good balance between crisp and soft bits, and delectably toasty. The mysore paste added such a satisfying garlicky heat. The accompaniments were just as good: rich, comforting sambar and flavorful chutneys. The Andhra chicken curry was bold and incredibly flavorful with tender chicken in a savory, aromatic gravy. The garlic naan was crisp, buttery, and properly garlicky. The mango lassi was also top-tier.
Their menu has plenty of lesser-seen regional dishes that caught my eye. I fear I’ll be back often.
The sambar was quite thick in consistency. We ordered the 70mm dosa, which was great for sharing — easily enough for three people. The baby corn came with a sauce that was just okay. We also tried the “street-style noodles” but I personally didn’t enjoy them. They contained frozen peas and carrots, and no fresh vegetables, which affected the flavor and texture.
Additionally, the service was quite slow, which made the experience less enjoyable.
We again went yesterday to have dinner, this time with friends and ordered chettinad chicken curry, naan roti and uttapam. First time I had such a crispy and flavoured uttapam in Chicago. Also, I ordered a soup, it was delicious too and because of winter it became cold after a while. I requested to get it reheated and the staff was happy to do that.
I would definitely recommend to give this place a try. Also, they do give you warm water in winter .
