I was in the area for some training and wanted a local style plate lunch. This place is clean and has a lot of space.
The decor gives off that Hawaiian tourist feeling.
Okay down to the food. Coming from Hawaii, I would say that the food is ok.
I had the Hawaiian BBQ plate (kalbi, bbq chicken, bbq beef), the meat was a little bland. My plate came with rice, steamed broccoli, and Mac salad. The Mac salad was decent, just kinda bland as well. Staff was really friendly.

The short ribs are so tender and delicious, they are my go to every time. Also the spam masubi and katsu chicken are very good. This location is super clean and the staff are super nice. I was happy to find a Hawaiian place in Colorado.

Tried a to-go order after my latest visit to the popular “L” place left me really disappointed. Kona is so much better! The food tastes better. Their Katsu sauce is more flavorful and the prices were very reasonable. Also the restaurant was extremely clean and organized when I went in and the cashier was super friendly! Found my new Hawaiian BBQ spot.

The kalua pork with cabbage was flavorful. The portion size was good. The Mac and cheese side was creamy and delicious. Service was quick and friendly and the fountain drink was free.

Good food and price! I got the Kona fire chicken mini meal and was impressed all around: chicken was fresh and the fire sauce was flavorful, and the portion sizes on the mini plate were generous, including the veggies (which was unexpected, since a lot of places seem to skimp on sides like that). They were also running a special with a free fountain drink, so all around excellent value.

Kona is pretty good if I’m in the mood for Hawaiian bbq and don’t feel like driving I go to Kona . The food is always fresh. I honestly just feel the meats are bland kinda . But it’s all cooked well and the sides are good. I would recommend this place. And I’ll probably be back again

After living in Arvada/Wheat Ridge for several years, I finally got to try out Kona Hawaiian BBQ and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood is not really known for its diversity in food but Kona is a much-needed delicious Hawaiian BBQ spot.
I’ve only tried their Aloha Plate with 2 sides (BBQ Chicken and Kona Fire Chicken) and spam musubi and everything was well-made and delicious. The Aloha Plate comes with either 1 side or 2 sides (2 sides was a dollar more), salad, cucumbers, and rice. The ratio of everything is perfect but I wish there was a bit more rice. Not a big deal at all.
One thing I would like to point out in particular is that many, many places I’ve been to mess up orders when asked to put a sauce on the side or something similar but the people at Kona got everything perfectly. Thank you!

First time, and we are so excited about it. The food portions are super big. We were able to share everything and still go home with a full box it seemed like. We went at 1145 literally right as the lunch rush was coming in. We got our food to eat here. The table and chairs are really cute with the beachy ocean vibe. Highly recommend a trip in.

I ordered off the pick two meal with chicken katsu and BBQ beef, it was delicious ! I also ordered 8pc crab Rangoon they were so bomb!! The cashier was very helpful with explaining the menu! Cool atmosphere! I will definitely be returning
