The food was pretty good. I’m surprised not too many people know of this place yet. Their food is so much better than most food at Hmong village or Hmong town. I got the combo which came with sticky rice, sausage, pork belly, and papaya salad. It was a super good deal too because it was only 20$ before tax. The pork belly was nice and crispy. The sausage was good and the papaya salad was super good. Just a little bit too salty but still liked it. The pepper sauce they have is super delicious too. It had a good kick. I didn’t like the sauce that came with the spring rolls. But the spring rolls were jumbo size. The egg rolls were really good too. The bubble teas were made good as well. Overall, I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back.

Looking for a local restaurant to get lunch, I stumble upon this humble little spot at the corner. I talked to an employee and they just opened a week ago. I got fried rice, Hmong sausage, general Tso chicken, and crispy pork belly for 10.99. This platter of food was flavourful and the spicy Hmong hot sauce was great. For me, the highlight of the platter was the crispy pork belly. Crispy on the outside, and soft and moist on the inside. They also serve smoothies, chicken wings and more here. They also told me they plan on introducing more dishes in the near future. If you’re looking for a new spot, and want to support a local business, look no further than Purple Rice express!

I went to this place today just to try something new and I found it really good. I ordered the spring rolls, egg rolls, $5 Pho (which is in-store only as of now), and a coconut smoothie. The portions were nice and large and quite a great deal for their price. The Pho came with add-in chili oil that added a really nice heat to the experience. The atmosphere and the service is quite good, too.
Overall, I would come here again! Its a great deal for some nice food, and I wish more people knew about it!

Driving down White Bear Ave, this Purple Rice restaurant seemed to pop up out of nowhere. Excited to try somewhere new, we ordered take out and the service was wonderful. The lady who handed me my food was sincere and I felt a sense of appreciation. The food only took 20 minutes, was fresh and hot. The pad thai was okay (quite a few onions and could use some more chicken), but the general tso was hands down the best in the area. I kept stealing more off my husband’s plate. Welcome to the neighborhood, Purple Rice! We will be back again.

I’d like to leave 5 stars but I really can’t. I ordered Pad Thai and egg rolls (and Thai iced tea) to carry out. While I expected it to take awhile because it’s a small restaurant, it took more than 20 minutes. The Pad Thai has an odd flavor profile and the noodles were overcooked for my taste. (Very mushy) The egg rolls were really good tho. Hot and tasty.
The biggest issue I have is that they told me it would take 5-10 minutes, which is what I’d expect for that food and it took more than twice that long. So go when you’re not on a timeline.

Ordered take out from here tonight, and everything was delicious! The purple rice sampler was a great way to try out many dishes for our first visit. The pork belly was so crispy and the purple rice had a great texture! Our favorite item we ordered was the beef laab – it was so delicious and flavorful.
The woman who took our order was very kind and gave us great recommendations.
Will definitely be back soon to try more of the menu!

It was so tasty! We got about half the stuff on the menu, and it was all amazing. Highly recommend the pork belly. The person serving us was super nice and walked us through all our options. The combo is a great value. We loved the mango and Jack fruit to go!
