If you’re in Orlando and craving incredible pizza, Nonas Urban Pizza is the spot. 100% recommend — you’ll definitely be back for more!
To start, I ordered the garlic knots, which were indeed quite good—a classic done right. But the main event, the Tripleta pizza, was the real star. It was very good and certainly lived up to the hype I had built up in my mind. The most surprising element, however, was the inclusion of the mayo-ketchup sauce. I honestly didn’t expect it to pair well with a pizza, but it actually provided a unique and delicious creamy tang that complemented the other toppings perfectly. It’s a flavor combination you have to try to appreciate.
The atmosphere at Nonna Urban Pizza was also a fun and different experience. It had a lively vibe, and I particularly enjoyed playing the pinball machine while waiting for my food. It brought back a wave of nostalgia, reminding me of the old-school pizzerias up north that used to have small arcades where you could play games while waiting for your order.
Ultimately, Nonna Urban Pizza offers more than just a standard pie. If you’re willing to step outside your comfort zone and try a different, unique flavor profile, this is absolutely the place for you. While the drive is significant, I would definitely go back again if I ever find myself in the Lake Nona area. It’s a worthwhile destination for a truly memorable pizza experience.
The gentleman making the pizzas said hi and welcomed us in with a smile, after that everything else was bad.
The food: The cheesy garlic knots and the Jibara pizza were very good. We really enjoyed it.
The Service: Terrible! No acknowledgement, no suggestions. They guy seemed like he was in a bad mood. Barely said a word to us. It was just bad. Then we go to the table, we’re not offered or given plates, napkins or utensils. I went and got the napkins myself. He brought the garlic knots to the table and still no plates or utensils. Then he brought the pizzas and I had to ask for plates, he brought them with out even saying a word.
It’s like I wanted to enjoy the place and the food. And I couldn’t, at least in the food part you aced it. But the rest needs serious work. What a shame.
We will def be back again. To try more types or if anything definitely the Domi/tripleta
The biggest issue is the condition of the chairs and tables. Management really needs to inspect the dining area. Around 25% of the chairs are unstable or missing pieces on the legs. One of the chairs actually fell while we were there. This is a major safety hazard, and someone is going to get hurt. It’s a liability waiting to happen, and it needs to be fixed immediately.
The food has potential, but the service and safety concerns overshadow everything.
