In 1998 Alive & Well Health Store opened its doors, selling Vitamins & Supplements along with a fresh, organic deli serving nutritious meals. 23 years later, we are still doing the same! The recently renovated Deli, now called Broth Cafe, is the ultimate Maui farms to plate experience, serving nutrient dense and enriching meals, featuring organic juice, broth & everything in between with many vegan, paleo and keto selections. Asked if there was venison chili left, was told yes, charged for it, then told no they were out after paying for it. Was refunded to the card I used but was told I wouldn’t actually receive the refund for 3-5 business days, this was on a Friday. Also, not given a refund receipt so who knows.
Update: 3 weeks later, haven’t received the refund.
Loco moco has cold, not fresh made, boiled egg on it instead of fried. Said it had chantrelle mushrooms but had like one chopped up brown mushroom, definitely NOT chantrelle becuse those are yellow. A tablespoon of gravy. Asked for more gravy got an oily broth that seeped right through the cardboard container. Hope it wasn’t an endocrine-disrupting seed oil but probably was because I cried after eating it and my mood was shot for the rest of the day. But maybe it was just the way I was treated and lack of transparency about the food. Brown rice, which is higher in arsenic than white. They forgot the mac salad that was supposed to come with it.
If you want to be gaslighted and treated like a commodity instead of a valued customer, go here. If you want to spend way too much money on overpriced, weird, low quality food and no aloha, go here.
Every past experience here has been awkward with the arrogant, disinterested service and substandard dishes, but I like the chili and figured how could you mess up a loco moco? Just wanted something healthy but it was not. If you want lies, theft, experimental food, and lazy service with attitude, go here. I will never be back.

Ate here once a few years ago and have been meaning to go back sooner. Went this past week like 3 times! We like their bahn mi sandwiches, Tan Tan Ramen, 6 minute egg and Mac Crack Fish Bowl. Their cook does a good job and all of the local wahines working the cafe’ are really nice!

The lemongrass chicken bowl and the vegi bowl never disappoint. The fish sandwich has a little too much bread for my liking so I cut off some of it and then it’s perfect. Everything is Healthy and delicious!

Popped into broth for a quick snack and ooooooh my was it a good decision. Green burrito, miso toast, lemongrass burrito and two different smoothies – all items were absolutely amazing. The cashew cream in the lemongrass burrito blew our minds with delight and the Mac crack left us licking the plate in search of every last morsel. We left completely satiated and yet still wanting to order more for later. I would like to petition that they consider our home state of Ohio for their second location.

I order the fish bam sandwich and was so disappointed… nothing like pictured online. No carrots, flat and a pretty empty roll to say the least. I also ordered a juice which was not with my order. I had to ask for it. Then I was told they didn’t have any and was directed to the fridge lol. Yea I won’t go again sad to say
