We visited the Harbor Inn (AKA Admiral Inn) for a planned event. What a great surprise! The food was excellent and they have preserved a slice of SW Iowa history. The atmosphere was open and comfortable. If you’re traveling on Hwy 2 from here to there it’s only a slight detour to a wonderful experience. One caution, their hours seem a bit irregular so it might do you to make sure they’re open. It’s worth your time and effort.
This is an update: this place also offers Iowa beef for sale. We picked up a prime rib; it was excellent. Prices are reasonable for the quality of beef offered.

I am a local and love the Admiral Inn. Great food, great people and great drinks. This establishment is a true asset to Fremont County. They added a beer garden that is nice. Not only do they have specials on steak and prime rib but offer pizza on the weekends. I highly recommend the all meat pizza. Everyone that visits us loves to go down to the Inn. See you there!
