Nan Xiang delivers where it counts: the food is genuinely good—especially the dumplings, which are flavorful, fresh, and consistently satisfying. You can tell quality is a priority in the kitchen.

The atmosphere is fine, but don’t expect cozy or intimate vibes. It leans more toward a Starbucks-style feel—bright, efficient, and always moving. Great for a quick bite, less so for a long sit-down hang.

On the plus side, prices are very respectable for the quality and location. You leave feeling like you got solid value for your money.

Bottom line: Great food, casual-modern setting, fair prices. A dependable go-to when the dumpling craving hits.

Almost everyone I know commented that the main store at Flushing, NYC is far better than this Express branch here. I don’t know about how good Flushing one is. For this one, Xiao long pao ( soup dumpling ) is just OK.. There are at least 2 other places taste better than this. Maybe it’s just a Express!! Self-service!!

Ordered beef noodle soup and chicken dumplings. The quantity of beef is good but it’s not soft and melting in your mouth. It is hard and chewy. The chicken soup dumplings were decent but not excellent. Clean place, plenty of tables and fast service

I stopped into this restaurant for dinner. When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was sat. I ordered with a nice server:

Lemon Fruit Tea
Shrimp Spring Rolls
Chicken Fried Rice
Chicken Soup Dumplings
Vegetable Steamed Dumplings
Braised Beef Noodle Soup

The food was really good! My favorite definitely were the chicken soup dumplings and the noodle soup! It was a great spot!

If you’re looking for something to take the chill off and warm you up on a cold day this is the perfect spot. Even if you’re just trying to lift your mood this is the kind uplifting dinning that will do that for you.

Eating in or out you can watch them make your favorite dumplings right there in front of you. Great place to grab some good food right off the highway.

Lucy set the tone for a fantastic meal with her attentive, thoughtful service and constant care for our table. The vegetable soup dumplings were heavenly with shredded ginger and chili oil, the chicken dumplings were delicious, the pork and crab dumplings satisfying, the shrimp with crispy noodles and scallion pancakes were both excellent, and it was a joy to watch the dumplings being made fresh in front of us. Ordering by tablet was quick and easy, the lychee apple bubble tea was refreshing, and the overall experience at Nan Jiang Express in Princeton was clean, efficient, and truly enjoyable.

The soup dumplings here are definitely the highlight. You can try a pretty good variety, and they are flavorful and satisfying. We ordered a few other dishes, but those were just okay and nothing really stood out. If you visit, I would recommend sticking with the soup dumplings.

The place was moderately busy, and the ordering process is simple since you can scan the menu and order directly from your phone. Service was decent and everything came out smoothly, but overall the atmosphere felt more like eating at a mall food court rather than a special dining experience.

We spent about 100 with tips for our meal. Worth a try if you are craving soup dumplings, but do not expect much beyond that.

honestly, it’s not very authentic. It feels more like it’s catered to Western tastes rather than authentic Shanghainese style. The prices are quite pricey, and the portions are pretty small. The pork soup dumplings (小籠包) are tiny with rather thick skins, which takes away from the juiciness you’d expect.

The pan-fried pork buns (生煎包) were also very small — usually when I get them elsewhere, they’re much bigger and more satisfying.

Since the place runs more like a fast-casual setup, I personally don’t think tipping should be expected for dine-in.

Dumplings so good makes me want to move to Jersey The Spicy Beef Xiao Long Bao were the best I’ve ever had! Such a different flavor and not too spicy. I didn’t even need sauce for them. It was ridiculous how soupy these dumplings were! The pan fried baos were saucy inside too. The broccoli was good as well. Love this place will definitely be back when I come to Jersey next.

This place is amazing! Tea drinks are refreshing and not sugary, true to flavor, they are on point. We order Chive, Shrimp & Pork Dumpling, Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings, Pan Fried Pork Bun, Shrimp Spring Rolls, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Shanghai Stir Fried Noodle with beef. Food is 20 out of 10! Is fresh, cook perfectly and really tasty, also very traditional, I love it! Staff is very nice and friendly, food comes out quickly.
