Visites here today and absolutely loved the food. The service was also fantastic! Tried the famous chicken burger which did not disappoint. I ordered the hot version which wasn’t that spicy but did taste really good. Next time I’ll try it extra hot. The Mac & cheese is so tasty and be warned, the portion is very big so it feeds more than 1 person. Will define back to try the burgers!

First time eating here. Was looking for a place that serves Mac and cheese for my picky eater daughter. Absolutely LOVED the mac and cheese and so did my daughter. We got the chicken strips as well and they were amazing. The bbq sauce that came with the strips was tasty as well and I’m not a bbq sauce fan either. We will be back for sure. My only complaint- please get some better forks. Those wooden forks make it hard to shovel the delicious mac and cheese into my mouth.

The burger was dry and overcooked. It honestly tasted like it was reheated. The bun was drenched with some liquid. The fries were ok but soft. No crunch to it.

When Umbrella Burger first opened next to my place, I was curious. I mean, who doesn’t like burgers, right? I remember stopping in when they first opened, and from what I recall, it just wasn’t anything special. Fast forward a couple of years, me and my brother decided to give it another shot. After this recent visit, it became pretty clear why we had not been back in such a long time.
To start on a positive note, the curly fries were actually really good. You do not see a lot of places in Ottawa serving curly fries, and these ones hit the spot. Unfortunately, that is pretty much where the positives end for me.
The burger itself was dense, very greasy, and just did not taste that great. It felt like it was missing something fresh to balance it out, like tomatoes, pickles, or lettuce. I know you can add toppings like a slice of tomato, bacon, their special relish, and some condiments, but that is about it. I have had very simple burgers with just cheese, pickles, and ketchup that tasted amazing. Umbrella Burger’s burgers, at least from what I had, were just not that.
I have seen a lot of reviews saying their chicken burgers are great. I did not get one this time, and from what I remember having it in the past, it was nothing special. But to be fair, maybe their chicken options have improved since then.
All in all, if you are craving a burger and you live in the Ogilvie area, I would honestly recommend going a couple of blocks down and grabbing a Big Mac.

Came last weekend with my whole family, and it was an amazing experience. This is some of the best food I’ve ever had in Canada! The chicken sandwich is unbelievable, the beef is beyond good, and the burgers literally melt in your mouth. The shakes are absolutely delicious as well.
The service was excellent super friendly and very helpful. Special thanks to Mike and the hardworking staff. The place was also spotless.

Favorite smashed burger in Ottawa, hands down! The flavor hits every taste bud in the right way every single time. Everything tastes fresh, and the burgers are always consistent and so well put together.
The sides are on a whole different level. I crave their sweet potato fries and smoked mac and cheese more often than I’d like to admit. Their poutine is great too, and I love that for takeout they keep the gravy separate so it doesn’t get soggy. Portions are generous and satisfying.
Honestly, I could rave about this place all day. Out of all the spots I’ve tried, this one is easily my number one.

Burger with fries and a 6 piece chicken tender with fries was 50 dollars. Fed me and my two kids with left overs. No drink included but they were kind and happily gave us glasses of water.
Atmosphere lost some stars because my daughter slipped and hurt herself pretty good.
Employee was willing to check the ingredients for us to accommodate my son’s food allergies. Chicken tenders are made fresh in house and yummy. Chicken was as well.

The smokey flavour, the pasta size, the portion size – i could go on for days. Just amazing. Service has been consistently pleasant, generous and welcoming! It’s a small location, so not many seats so just keep that in mind if you’re going with a big group.
