Delicious food and welcoming service. We had no table booked but this was not a problem. I really never know what to choose so I explained what flavours I like and a dish was prepared to perfection. Prices are reasonable and the service is amazing. Thank you to all the team

It is clear why they have been around 31 years, really good fresh food, great service. Pickle tray was great. I had duck, never seen that on a curry menu! It was delicious. It was labeled as medium heat on the menu, I would say anyone could have it without issues.

Cracking Curry house situated just off the market square in Ludlow. It was recommended to us and didn’t disappoint. Very clean and airy premises with a modern contemporary feeling.
Staff all friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Nice poppadoms and Pickles to start with then Mrs had Chicken Korma, good but sauce not that thick and creamy. Chicken Dhansak was good, just the right amount of kick to it.
Prices are what you expect, shade over £44 including a drink each. Worth a visit if in the area.

Collected a lovely chicken tikka, pilau rice, chips, naan, poppadoms and chutneys takeaway. Usual high standards in food and certainly hot.
Lovely flavours and presentation.

What I do have an issue with is, a staff member standing outside smoking a cigarette. I had arrived early to collect a pre ordered meal.

It doesn’t present an image of professionalism and certainly hygiene. Would this individual wash his hands before starting work??

What are the hygiene standards like back of house? Perhaps that’s why they only have a 2 out of 5 Food Standards Agency rating.

Will it put me off going again?
Yes.

Always great to see an Indian packed out on a Monday night and sadly we’d not booked so couldn’t eat in. We were staying in an apartment locally so switched to takeaway which was with us following a 10min walk around the castle. Well packed, fresh, super tasty and a reasonable price. Would highly recommend

Had a takeaway whilst staying in a lodge at a very remote location, the driver still managed to find us in the dark & rain, he was incredibly polite and easy going too. The food we had tasted great, easily one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve tried. We ordered the food online which allowed us a 25% discount, everything considered, we’d highly recommend.

Please don’t waste your money here. First of all the delivery driver – my god was he RUDE! Shouting in my partners face stating he had been waiting over 10 minutes, I checked our ring door bell he was there less than 30 seconds. Absolutely disgusting service and attitude!!

Once we got the food it was just downhill from there. Pakoras swimming in grease so so greasy could not eat them.

Sagaloo was horrid, tasted burnt – also couldn’t eat it.

The chicken and veg korma were so disappointing watery no flavour just bland.
The rice again fully of grease – how??

Will never ever in my life ever order from here there are plenty of better local curry places around Ludlow. I urge everyone DO NOT eat from here, if you do I’d buy a pack of rennies after.

We’ve been eating at Shapla for years as it’s within easy walking distance from home, however last night was very disappointing. The popodoms and dips were as moorish as ever and the atmosphere and service were great but the mains were such a let down. The korma and paneer tikka masala were the worst as they were beyond sweet with very little flavour. We all had medium spicy but had to ask for a dish of chillies on the side to try and spice things up a bit and still no heat. We felt the curries were so ‘Englishised’ they’re barely curries. Come on Shapla….be brave and spice them up a bit.

After a few beers Flat Eric, Ic and Flic fancied trying this Indian restaurant. We all enjoyed the visit. Very welcoming. I would prefer a little more spice but I eat Birds Eye chillies! Very good chutney tray with the pops. Good mains with friendly service.
