Reviews

JM “Impossible Traveler”
I had high expectations for Latitude 44 Bistro, especially after hearing so many positive reviews, but my experience left much to be desired.

Starting with the service, it was noticeably slow. It took over 30 minutes for my soup and salad to arrive, while other tables seemed to be served in a timely manner. Perhaps there was an issue with only one waiter handling multiple tables, or maybe our food was being prepared by someone else due to staff shortages.

I ordered the French onion soup, which was disappointingly small. On a brighter note, the Chicken Caesar with blackened chicken was quite good; it hit the right notes and was satisfying.

However, my ribeye steak was a letdown. The texture and taste were unusual, leading me to believe it might have been previously frozen, thawed, and then refrozen. I had ordered it medium, but it arrived well done, which didn’t help its case. The accompanying carrots were also a miss; they were undercooked and tough, making them difficult to enjoy.

Lastly, I opted for the mushroom pasta, but it was overpowered by an excessively strong blue cheese, which took away from the overall dish. The shrimp were boiled and added on top which was also strange that it wasn’t cooked with the dish.

Overall, my experience was disappointing compared to the glowing reviews I had read. While there were some redeeming dishes, the service and quality of the food left me wanting more.

Came to 44 Bistro because they had an excellent selection and outside seating. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent but the two drinks I have were even better. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. I look forward to coming back for more.

On my second visit I tried the crab cakes and a pasta dish (shrimp tortellini). It was delicious and very filling. Despite being much busier this time around the service was still excellent.

Incredible food and incredible service! Marquis was a pleasure to have as a server. He was punctual and made sure we were satisfied throughout the night. Me and my significant other were told it would be an hour wait, which was typical with it being Valentine’s day, but 20 minutes later, we were called and told our table was ready! From the service, to the food, and the atmosphere, it was all-around a 5/5 experience. And to the man who paid for our table out of the kindness of his heart.. Thank you and god bless!! You truly made our night. Will definitely be returning.

My girlfriend and I went here because it looked like a nice place to go out to dinner as a couple. The ambiance is great, we both loved it. Our waiter was a very nice, energetic, and enthusiastic man, however he didn’t check in on us even once, and it wasn’t busy at all when we were there. The only time we saw him was when he brought us our food and the check. I would have had a second maple old fashioned because I thought it was tasty, but he never came over for me to ask for another. Had he checked on us at least twice, he would have given us the perfect service. I had the tenderloin beef tips which was delicious and a good sized portion. The beef was very tender and flavorful, especially in that red wine cream sauce. The menu description did not say to my recollection that it came with mashed potatoes but I’m not complaining because I liked that it did. My GF had the fish and chips and said she liked it. The truffle fries we had for our appetizer were delicious, but we didn’t know the sauce it came with had horseradish in it as the description just said citrus aioli. I also had a French onion soup for an appetizer. The soup looked great but didn’t taste like French onion soup, it had a sweet taste like the liquid in a can of baked beans. It also had bacon in it which isn’t common and didn’t say that in the description. For dessert I had the cheesecake. It was good and plated well, however there was no chocolate ganache on it and it was supposed to get some. I ordered an espresso martini with my dessert and whoever made it forgot the espresso! It was just vodka and baileys! The menu said the martini was $12 but I was charged $14. A random $2 up charge for my drink. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience, and I would go back AND recommend the restaurant to people. Just be warned service can be slow which was a common complaint among the google reviews I read. Still worth a try if you’re reading this review.

Great food and service! The PEI Mussels were amazing. Love the Risotto and the Blackened Salmon. And the desserts complete the experience. Great cheesecake!

We had not eaten at Latitude 44 in quite awhile. We ate there last night. The food was absolutely amazing! We had calamari with a chipotle aioli, my husband had fish and chips and I had hanger steak with chimichurri served with red bliss mashed potatoes. Our server was very nice and attentive. Very nice atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

We were the first ones to arrive on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was nice and felt like a bistro. The service was a little underwhelming. Had to ask for utensils for our main course and drinks were slow. The food was decent but some of the dishes could use a little more thought put into them. The deep fried meatballs, while mostly tasted good, were a little too salty and hard to eat because the sausage got really dense when deep fried. The outer crust was really hard to cut into and when trying to stab it with a fork, the meatball would go flying. The fried spaghetti was a good thought, but was really really hard to eat because the noodles got really chewy. Also, not sure who’s idea it was to put balsamic vinegar on the plate under the cast iron where it cannot be enjoyed. Kind of a faux pas to do that to balsamic vinegar. The apple crumble cheesecake shouldn’t have been called a crumble when there was no crumble to be found. There was an apple sauce on the cheesecake though. Same with the Rum cake. A rum cake is soaked in a rum sauce so that it is fully saturated. The rum cake was only partly wet on the outside and dry on the inside.

Drinks were really good though.

This place has always been wonderful. But the New Year’s Sea Bass was the best meal I’ve had there by far. I hope they’ll continue it. Their house Pinot is the best ever too!

Definitely one of the best places in town. Delicious food from a modern yet upscale menu, full bar with great service. Fantastic meals in a lovely setting. Fruits de mer (my favorite) was not on the menu today so I went with a close alternative, and new favorite dinner. Hubby went with the bison sirloin, we ate every last bite of our meals (after splitting the duck wings for an appetizer) and finished things off with dessert. I had been a couple times but the hubby had not, it is now our new favorite spot, and where we will be celebrating our special occasions… tonight was my birthday, so thank you to Latitude 44 for making it an extra special evening.
