Ms. Kay’s Soul Food Kitchen – Serving Love & Flavor for Over 25 Years! For more than 25 years, Ms. Kay has been bringing the soul to events all across Ohio with her successful catering company. Since May 2022, we’ve been proud to open our restaurant inside Saraga International Grocery Store, located at the back of the food court, making it easy for everyone to enjoy delicious, freshly prepared meals six days a week. Come join us Thursday–Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM and meet our talented chefs, led by Ms. Kay, who has been cooking with passion and expertise for over 25 years. Searching for a different place to check out today and came across this place. It’s inside of an International Grocery. I ordered the Baked Chicken, got 4 legs, also ordered the greens, macaroni and cheese and the candied yams. The chicken was cooked perfectly texture wise but lacked any flavor. The macaroni and cheese was nice and creamy but also lacked any flavor. The greens were super tasty, should have ordered extra. The sweet potatoes were nice and tasty. A nice brown sugar mixture in them. The best part of the visit was the person that waited on me, Micha, he was super nice and helped me order. They are super fortunate to have him.

My family came down from dayton so we always try to find something new. We found Kay’s via Google search and the food looked good and it said it was in a market so we thought it was a great idea and they did not disappoint! First Saraga has the best produce section in the city. You can get whatever you want there, so many things I’ve never heard of.
But the star of the show was Kay’s Turkey legs!! It was fall off the bone good! The sides were top notch as well. I got Mac, greens, and candied yams. It felt like I was back in Tennessee for Thanksgiving for real.
My grandmother got the fried catfish and she said “thats the best fried catfish i ever had, not greasy at all” which means a lot coming from her. Can’t wait to go back and show everybody that visits this wonderful market and restaurants!

I ordered the ribeye meal with 2 sides. The steak had great flavor but a little tough. I appreciate the owner giving me a little extra piece because she wanted to fill my plate up. The mac and cheese was good but the sweet potatoes did taste like they were canned, which is fine but I was expecting homemade. I can tell the owner loves what she does and she puts that into her cooking. I will be back to try the other items on the menu!

We had the fried whiting, greens, Mac and cheese, green beans, and banana pudding. The food was absolutely amazing! The cook and staff was very friendly. We used to go to a soul/southern food restaurant that was in the Giant Eagle strip on south Hamilton rd. They closed shop a couple years ago, and I’m so happy to now find a replacement. We will definitely be back to try something new. I wished I thought to take pictures of the food before I posted this, but we ate it too fast

RUN, DON’T WALK to Kay’s soul food kitchen! First time I tried Ms.Kay’s dinner plates (swai fish combo and chicken Alfredo) and amazing would underselling the flavor and seasoning for the food I tried. Also the portions are huge for how much she charges. It reminds me of how things use to be before Covid and inflation. Second time I had breakfast… and let met tell you, it was better than the dinner. I had the pancakes, French toast, eggs, home fries and turkey bacon. All of it was cooked and seasoned well. She used this cinnamon butter on the pancakes and french toast… it’s tremendous! Best part for a breakfast lover like me , she serves it ALL DAY! In terms of service, Ms.Kay makes you feel like family when ordering and when dinning in. It pains me not to gate keep this hidden gem but with how much love and soul she puts into the food, she deserves a line out the building.

Kay’s Soul Food restaurant has the BEST soul food in Greenboro and the Triad area. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The potato salad, turkey wings, Mac and cheese were AMAZING! The owner talked with us and was very hospitable. Will come back again and again for some REAL soul Food!

Went here for dinner, got the bake chicken, sweet potatoes with mac and cheese and collard greens with greens and a cake, I liked the customer service! The food was tasty and it was well seasoned with the baked chicken and the collard greens! Everything was tasty! Definitely will be back for they Sunday dinner

Kay’s Restaurant popped up when I googled ‘best baked chicken near here’. Instead of chicken, I ordered a turkey leg and double green beans. The green beans were seasoned perfectly. The smoked turkey leg was tender and tasty. Ms. Kay was sweet and her helper was patient personable.
