We’ve been getting food from here for years and it’s always been exceptional. We regularly order the ziti pizza pie along with cheese pies. The ziti pizza pies are always prepared exceptionally so we didn’t open the box to check before we left, as we expected what we usually get. Not only was the food terribly prepared, but when I called to order, a staff member picked up and was yelling something at me and I was unable to understand what he was saying. He then hung up on me. I was informed shortly afterward that it was the OWNER speaking to me like that and that he was “drunk.” Lol. Very unprofessional and disappointing. Won’t be ordering from here anymore. Will spread the word too !!!!!!

Tried pizza pepperoni and was good looking and tasty, but the crust wasn’t crispy, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it’s a decent pizza spot in the city.

I don’t ever leave a review, but I had to for this place. Working construction late on a Friday night. Found this pizza place. Omg, im a picky person. So it takes a lot to make me happy. the buffalo chicken slice and regular slice were unbelievable. One of the best buffalo slices I have had. You definitely got to try this place. And the staff were very friendly as well.

Ya have to do better quality is poor and the fact I was picking up before closing usually people are generous and give something out since you want to avoid food waste but nope not even in there mind they gave me 4 slices and nothing with protein plus and unfriendly personality.Definitely never coming back !

Been in Tribeca for the last year…tried all the spots…this one is the CLEAR winner. The plain cheese aka the great equalizer of all pizza is the best I have found in the city which is a big statement. Cheers to Il Mattone – thank you for being a neighborhood icon.

Man! I’m so glad to see that Il Mattone made it through 2020 and the last four years! A photo of our family with the owner in front of the restaurant popped up in my memories feed, and I had to see if he was still going.
He is a gem of a person. Was so friendly and helpful to our family, and the pizza was amazing. If we ever get back to NYC, Il Mattone is at the top of the list.
