Seated immediately. Wonderful waitress. Quite clean. I ordered the house chow mein with chicken. It was terribly dry and gummy. Very scant amount of chicken, no sauce. It was fairly edible, but very disappointing. The egg drop soup was basically broth and egg. Zero veggies. Not likely that we will make a return visit. Hope they were just having an off day.

So I used to love this place decent quality for a fair price. Last few years quality has decreased immensely. Cook is precooking all fried items. Chowmein had some rancid taste. Sweet and sour was watered down. Hot mustard had almost no kick. When I tried to give feedback hostess just said that’s normal. Didn’t see bothered. I tried it a few times just to see if it’s an off night. Time unfortunately has caught up to this place. I can no longer frequent this establishment.

It’s been a long time since I had eaten here so I wanted to give it another shot. And I should have stayed away. I placed a takeout order and the wait was insanely long. It took over an hour for me to receive my food. They were extremely disorganized. When I did receive my food, it was barely warm. The broccoli beef had plenty of meat and broccoli, but the beef was chewy and under-sauced. The Mandarin chicken was more fried batter than chicken. The sauce wasn’t too bad though. And the fried rice was pretty tasty. There was no apology for the wait and the food was mostly subpar. That’s what I get though. I hope I don’t have stomach issues.

Worst meal ever. Fried rice was hard and definitely not worth $3.95. Service wasn’t very good either. No other people there and the one couldn’t even keep the dirty tables cleared. Room had an id smell to it. Never again. $35.00 for two crap meals.

Great food for a great price! My wife and I go fairly regularly and we’re always seated and served very quickly. We usually both get the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken lunch/dinner specials and they’re always delicious. Great portions, great flavor, and great service. The only con is the bathrooms smell like sewage!

We ordered for pick up. I got there and no one came out fits long time. I called and the woman claimed she was Wendy ripped me a new one because I called from lobby because no one was around. She was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. Kept saying she’s been there 20 years. Don’t care about that, does not give you the right to be rude! I said nothing wrong just seeing if anyone was aware I was in the lobby! We will not be ordering here again though we enjoyed the food.Retire “Wendy”

Ordered for Doordash and I got the D4 dinner for 2 food is really really good best I’ve had in a while but it comes with the shrimp and sweet peas… I got 3 SHRIMP and a BUNCH od veggies in a container you would normally get fried rice in, its definitely needs more shrimp im not sure if it was a mistake but this was more of a hot cabbage soup with a topping of shrimp… everything else is AMAZING and I cant complain

I haven’t been to this old school local gem for a while. I remember coming here when I was a kid. The food is just as good as I can remember. The beef and broccoli was fresh, and was so flavorful. The sweet and sour sauce had the right about of sweetness that you didn’t feel like you’re eating spoons of sugar with your chicken. Portion size was great. If you’re looking for good Chinese food and not too worried about the esthetics of the restaurant, Mandarin Palace is it. I wish I lived a little closer.

We have been hard pressed finding a quality Chinese food place in Boise since our favorite, (Twin Dragon), closed about 10 years ago.
We’ve tried a few, and nothing has been good enough.
This place we were able to order by phone for take out.
It was ready within a few minutes of our arrival, which wasn’t bad as a lady before us had a very large order.
My husband ordered the #3 & I ordered the #4 with a couple extra egg rolls, as mine didn’t come with them, and I love a good egg roll.
They were crispy and delightful.
Both our meals were delicious! Great sizes for the price, very reasonable.
The lady that brought us our food was adorable, light hearted, personable, and funny.
We will definitely be a repeat customer, and probably sit down next time.
