While in town for a recent conference dinner reservations were made and we were told, it already made the Eater Boston “Top New Restaurants” list, so there was already a 99% chance they’d be good. And when I say it’s new, It opened on November 4, so you still can’t find it on Google maps…. I was given the address and hailed the Uber.

It’s in a high-rise just across the street from the South station bus station. It’s a a quaint place, With a sleek design and inviting feel.

Because this was a business dinner, I couldn’t take photos of the food like I usually do. We started with the Tallow fries. I could’ve had my own bowl. Those were super delicious.

Some of the meals that I remember, were the bolognese, The carrot-ginger pasta, and the rabbit leg. In the end, there was not a morsel left in anyone’s plate. I even went for the dessert and tried the apple mille fuille… This was the most delightful thing I’ve had in a long time.

I wish I lived closer because I would certainly return, but it’s definitely on my list for the next time. I’m in the area.

I tried to snag a few photos as we ended our night. I can guarantee you may see some empty seats now, but it was an early dinner on a Wednesday night and if they keep up food, this good those seats will not be empty long!

Overall really liked this place and would come back. Was a bit hit or miss…the hits were incredible the misses were forgettable. The Onion tarte tatin was absolutely incredible, would have ordered it twice. The Pork Rillettes Macarons were one of the most unique bites I’ve ever had really enjoyed it. Prawn toast was really well made and a tasty bite, wish there was more prawn but still an 8/10. The Lamb meatballs were well made just lacked some flavor nothing to try again but a decent bite. Their salad is really forgettable, super plain, weak dressing, not bad just fine. The burger is also solid, has potential but when it comes together it tasted a bit bland and the bun is really the wrong bun for that burger. It was juicy and perfectly cooked, just lacked flavor. Fries are crispy and fun to eat great taste. The Olive oil cake is awesome, super delicious flavors and textures, great dessert. The bar needs serious serious work, had probably the worst martini I have ever had in my life. Both of us took one sip and sent it back. Like legitimately awful.

I decided to go to SJ’s Restaurant for dinner on a whim. Glad I took a chance since the hostesses were very friendly and professional and gave me directions earlier.

My table was next to a side window so I was able to people watch outside and also had a good view of the bar and the TVs playing reruns of a Pats game.

SJ’s has cool vibes with tasteful decor. A killer playlist of rock n roll and jazz rock music playing in the background.

The food was to die for! Bread and butter tasted like heaven. Ordered a Wagyu Steak with tallow fries. The Wagyu steak cut like melted butter & the demi glaze sauce brought out the wagyu flavor.

SJ’s and all the restaurant staff (hostesses, Patrick my waiter, bussers, chefs, etc) all worked seamlessly as a cohesive team to provide a superb and fantastic experience for all their customers and comrades. They deserve 20+Stars!

SJ’s atmosphere reminds me of the Continental Hotel in the John Wick movies. If only Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane (Winston), and the John Wick doggo were present during my awesome dining experience!

Pork Chop approves with 4 PAWS!

Absolutely incredible experience at Sj’s! My boyfriend and I visited Boston for the weekend and decided to try out Sj’s, and what a great choice it was. The service was top tier, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the food was delicious. Our waiter Pat was super friendly and very attentive. The floor manager (I believe) Jason was awesome and very charismatic! The bar was stunning as well. The drinks and food definitely met our expectations. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Boston. Can’t wait to come back and dine with them again!

Great new spot that just opened up near South Station (in the leather district). They are open for lunch and dinner. My family and I came for dinner and had a nice time! I would highly recommend the tartine, which was very homey and warm. Both the SJ salad and beet salad were large enough for 2 people to share and full of flavor. For our entrees, we split burgers and they came with these tasty tallow fries that were crispy and salty. Lastly, be sure not to miss out on their fantastic desserts made in-house. The carrot cake and olive oil chocolate might’ve been the star of the evening.

I came in here trying to wash away the self stigma of riding a Greyhound bus home. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised by the level of restaurant I found to do this at.

Bartender (Nancy) was attentive within minutes of me sitting now. She made the perfect martini and advisedly me smartly on the menu (knowing I had ~ 20 minutes) and I selected pleasing options.

Bite of the night was the prawn toast. The buttery fried milk toast pieces contained meaty mouthwatering prawns. Served with two sauces, the bite was savory and light. This may best be described as an innovate cross between a British tea cake and Chinese crab ragoon.

This was a great spot and will be on my list to return to. Definitely give these guys a go!!!

The food is very innovative and delicious! Wish I could have tried all the appetizers. Highly recommend the fries and the persimmon salad.
Service was pretty slow for us towards the tail — after eating our meal, we sat around for 20-30m before someone came around. Very odd, but just writing it off as restaurant newness & new year

We came to SJ’s looking for a proper cocktail and we were not disappointed. The Manhattans were on point. The bonus was the food. The sweet onion tarte tatin was exceptional and the tallow fries with aioli hit the perfect balance of salt and fat. Truly a great bar. We will be back!

I had a fantastic time celebrating Valentine’s Day altho i was 20mins late but they took care of us with pleasure – the service was exceptional, and the ambiance was wonderful. It was my first visit, and we ordered a variety of dishes. Our server was outstanding, and the busser who assisted them throughout the evening was friendly and supportive. Overall, I had a fantastic experience here.
Cant wait to go back.

As promised, “Good Food, Done Well”

The menu is full of dishes that are impressive, without being unnecessarily flashy. The steak frites were exceptional, with the fries getting extra flavor from the tallow fry.

The real standout was the beet and persimmon salad. The salty labneh and beets were balanced perfectly with the sweet permission and pumpkin brittle.
