My husband and I enjoyed dinner and drinks here on a busy Friday night. The place was busy but a few outdoor spots with heaters were available on the deck and a table opened up inside for us as well. It was a very cozy and fun atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and gave great drink and food recommendation. The tap burger and the scallops with street corn were both delicious! The bourbon mule cocktail was great too. The bartender recommended a beer to my husband based on what he likes and he loved that as well. Felt like we found a gem in bar harbor and will absolutely be back! Highly recommend!

THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE!! the food, the service, omg the food! The scallops corn I will be thinking about for the rest of my life. Josh was so welcoming and friendly, and the chef takes pride in his dishes! Everything was delicious. Lobster grilled cheese was so fresh, and the fish sandwich was so tasty! The fries were homemade, lightly fried & perfectly salted. Hardly saw this place talked about when looking for food, it didnt dissapoint. Go here away from the tourist traps.

SO incredible, this might just be our new favorite spot in Bar Harbor!! the sour beer selection is truly unmatched, & the food was delicious. I got the Ditalini & Cheese, and my husband got the Kimchi burger, and we both talked about how good the food was here the rest of our trip. fun sports bar vibe, and the bartenders were all upbeat & nice. loved watching a Bruins game here & hanging out at the bar.

When traveling, very rarely do I return to a restaurant for a second meal… let alone the exact same meal. My husband and I were visiting Bar Harbor, looking for a casual lunch spot. Tap & Barrel looked like more of a drink place, that happened to have food. But let me tell you, the food deserves to be in the spotlight! They advertise “largest bourbon list North Portland”, but they don’t advertise “best burger and fries North of Portland”. Their Big Tap Burger and Parmesan Fries were truly outstanding. Perfect bun, perfectly cooked burger, with amazing special sauce, all next to hand cut fries with Parmesan, thyme, and a dash of lemon. Insanely good quality. Browse the menu, and you’ll quickly pick up on that it was crafted by a chef who has an appreciation for the art of food. If you’re in the area, or not in the area and are planning a trip to Acadia/ Bar Harbor, stop in. Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere! And to top it all off, they’re dog friendly!

Was in Bar Harbor in November and were looking for a place to watch the Patriots game and grab a bite. Our hotel recommended we try Tap and Barrel and we were not disappointed! Exceptional food and an incredible selection of beer and whiskey. There really is something for everyone. We enjoyed it so much, coming back the next night was a no brainer. Great service on top of the already exceptional food and atmosphere. Mussels were exceptional as were the birria tacos and grilled cheese. Also had to get the wings special for the Patriots game.

Tap and Barrel quickly became our favorite spot on our trip. We ended up eating there three times in just a few days because it was that good. The food was consistently delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and it just had that comfortable, local feel you hope to find when you travel.
Josh was behind the bar all three nights and absolutely made the experience. He gave great recommendations, was super fun and friendly, and made us feel like regulars right away. We genuinely enjoyed talking with him every time we stopped in.
It’s the kind of place you wish you had back home. We were honestly sad to leave and will definitely miss it. We’ll be back next time we’re in town.
Also, when he asks if you want dessert say yes and get the cookie! It’s incredible!!

Came here solely bc they were open late enough for the Phillies playoff game and so glad they were!! We could swim in the mussel broth – one of the best we’ve ever had and we eat a lot of mussels (flagging I am also a sucker for cream-based anything… but the peppers give it a nice kick!). Had the blackberry goat cheese grilled cheese… slapped (flagging I am also biased to goat cheese). Service great, they have fire heaters for the deck, TVs everywhere, solid draft beer selection and even better bourbon selection.

This was a nice spot for a relaxing evening meal. The staff were great! Had the oysters and lobster roll – loved the oysters, felt average about the lobster roll. It seems like their bourbon and beer selections is their thing, unfortunately not mine.

This was recommended to us by a friend but wasn’t very good. Maybe would be fun as a bar but I would not come back here for the food. The lobster roll was just fine and the French fries were bad. Also the oysters weren’t brought out to us until after we finished our entrees which was odd.
