I sent this first as a complaint directly on the Potbelly website: Where do I start? How about I’ve never eaten or ordered Potbelly before in my life. I submitted an order on the Potbelly website at 1:19 PM including a tip. I submitted payment on a card that is a bit finicky on websites, so I assumed I’d figure out immediately if the card went thru or not. Website said “order accepted” so I continued working. about an hour later I checked the Doordash text link and kept checking in before finally calling the store. It has switched to 3 different Doordash driver names during this time. I checked my bank for pending transactions, didn’t see one and submitted my order again using a different card, this time with out a tip. When I called I was met with anything but customer service. Your representative said that Doordash app told them not to make the sandwich. I asked if anyone thought about calling me and letting me know what was going on. Then she said my card didn’t go through. I asked why I didn’t receive a phone call to let me know because the website didn’t say that. She sat in silence for a moment before raising her voice and telling me I needed to check my Doordash , I said I ordered on the Potbelly website, not Doordash and that I didn’t even have a Doordash account. She said I should have gotten an email, but again with her tone, I felt like a fool for even engaging in conversation with this person and should have not submitted another order. When I finally got the sandwich at 4:05 pm, there was a purple handwritten post it note on the bag that my sandwich was in that said: “$0 tip will delay any order (all orders go to Doordash)” I was LIVID! I didn’t tip the second order because I was so frustrated. But also, WHO put that on my sandwich? I can easily say I’m going to make this a google review and add a picture of this mysterious and poorly executed post-it of sadness that in this instance served at the icing on the cake of why I’ll never order from Potbelly again. Unbelievable.

Can someone give me the secret promo code to order non-mangled to-go sandwiches…Please? I couldn’t capture a coherent photo of the sandwich I had barely unwrapped before it shot it’s uncovered (bread looked squished before toasted) guts onto my kitchen island. Instead I will impress you with the exemplary packing of the chili mac to illustrate their genuis level skills.

Sadly, I have to give it a one star to write a review when I give it a zero star. Today while visiting the Arden Hills, Minnesota location I witnessed a customer in front of me kindly ordering his sandwich while a lady known as Dee (store manager) was on her personal phone and shouting to the customer in front of me, asking what he had on his sandwich while he already explained to the person taking his order what he would like, and when he didn’t answer her, she rudely gave him the middle finger. I then tried to call and talk to the manager to ask for the district manager‘s contact information and was hung up on. I will no longer be going to this location as this is not an isolated incident of this manager.

Ordered pickup and on my order I asked for a bowl of Mac and cheese for my kids. When I got home, it was just a small side cup. Mind you I paid $7 for the bowl of Mac and cheese. So I call, and the guy I talked with was extremely short, didn’t apologize for messing up my order and gave the two options as I can drive all the way back to potbelly or I can give my order number for them to refund it in a few business days. I got it refunded. I get it that mistakes happen but you could atleast apologize for messing up. Now instead of having a quick dinner for my family I’m at home making more food. It seems like from recent reviews that this place has gone down hill. Sad.

Update, now eating my salad, all my lettuce is wilted and purple. Never going back here.

Gm was extremely rude snatched my food and told me to leave the establishment because I questioned the toppings on my sandwich! Refused service and threatened to call the police. Do not come to this place it is a nightmare! Another location is recommended.

I love potbelly’s however I avoid this location at all cost. The GM Leanna or Leanne needs to be fired. She is so rude and disrespectful and has been at it for years! I have left grievances with corporate and for some reason she’s still there and still clearly at it. Looking at the reviews. Sounds like we need a class action lawsuit!!!

I’m a big fan of Potbelly’s. When I lived in Illinois, I’d take my son to the one in Vernon Hills. I close my eyes when I take my first bite, and it reminds me of those days. The first time I came to this location, there was a young man working who wasn’t very interested. The staff is so much better today. I had an Italian and a chocolate shake. They used to have the best malts. Mine didn’t have the signature round cookie on the straw, so I asked and got one. They need better napkins, so bring some paper towels with.

I love Potbelly’s however I’d pass on this location. The general manager Deanna treats her guest and employees horribly. I highly recommend driving to another Potbelly’s location. I will be from now on because of me witnessing this.

Ordered The Italian and a bag of chips for delivery. Customer Service made my sub with care, wasn’t messy when I unwrapped it. Sub was seasoned nicely, salami, old world capicola, pepperoni, mortadella, and provolone on a toasted multi grain. Was impressed they use Zapp’s brand for chips. Love those. It’s also nice they offer “Skinny” “Big” or “Original” sizes depending how hungry or healthy you want to go. Keep up the great work!

Expensive 24 dollars for Sandwich combo and bowl soup. Wasn’t worth the price. Gal who made my sandwich was friendly and helpful.
