We had a wonderful evening at Luke’s Brasserie. From the very first moment, the atmosphere set the tone for an unforgettable dinner — stylish interior, pleasant music, and attentive service created a truly welcoming experience. Every dish was exceptional: both the meat, fish, and vegetables were cooked to perfection, preserving their natural flavors while adding refined accents in the presentation. The white asparagus were a surprise. They were harmonious and sophisticated. I’m not sure I have ever tasted a better prepared vegetable. The lobster cavatelli was simply one of the best we’ve ever tried — bright, briny, and perfectly balanced in flavor, with excellent texture and a presentation that highlighted the attention to detail.

Luke’s is not just a restaurant, it’s an authentic gastronomic experience. You can feel the high level of the cuisine and the creative, author-driven approach in every dish. We highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates new flavors, unique combinations, and impeccable quality. We will definitely be back!

Are you tired of booking a month in advance for Michelin-starred spots in Manhattan, following every one of their rules, only to end up with mediocre food? If your answer is YES, then Luke Brasserie is your salvation.

I’ve been coming here for over two years, and owner Vincent is the real deal—no nonsense, no fluff. He focuses on doing things right and doesn’t get distracted by the noise. Sure, he can be tough to work with on the fine details, but he always delivers. And at the end of the day, that’s exactly the kind of attitude you want from a chef-owner. It’s about the food and the experience—and you won’t be disappointed.

I think Vincent chose New Haven to find a little peace, but in the process, he’s turned some “French cuisine” next door into a punchline. Enjoy this place, New Haven. Even by NYC standards—this restaurant is a gem.

We took friends for a family weekend and tried this place for the first time.
Food was good, but portions were very small. There’s no value. Our bill for 6 including 20% tip + tax but not including drinks/alcohol was $615. We tried almost the entire menu and had to double some dishes. The yellowtail, the beans in the porchetta (but not the pork itself), the greens from the branzino, and the steak were good. Actually the beans were a bit on the salty side. The others were fair – the sauce on the shrimp overpowered, the scallops were well cooked but nothing special. The service was friendly, every time they brought out a dish, they forgot serving spoons for the dish and we had to wait. It’s supposed to be finer dining but the kitchen and front were not at all coordinated and it became really annoying that this happened every single time.
When the restaurant is full, the noise level isn’t absorbed, so it becomes very difficult to have a conversation.
The server did give us complimentary sorbets when none of the desserts (3listed) appealed to us.
The worst part was even after ordering extra, we were hungry… but our dining time was over and we had to leave.

I wanted to leave a note to thank The Luke for the fantastic Thanksgiving meal. Circumstances this year led my family to look for a restaurant in the area rather than celebrate at home. Grateful we found the Luke; the whole team made the day so special and meaningful. The food was incredible—every item from the first salads to the half-turkey and steak was perfectly seasoned and executed. For the price at such a nice restaurant too, I was impressed with the generous portions. Thank you to the Luke team, and we’d highly recommend this restaurant to others for a holiday occasion!

We loved our cooking class experience with Chef Vince! We enjoyed a full afternoon of food, wine, and good vibes – learning transferable skills that home cooks at any level can use to up their game in the kitchen. Vince is a charismatic and gracious host, and created an environment where everyone felt excited to jump in and try something new. The food was delicious and we truly felt like VIP guests at one of New Haven’s finest. 10/10 – highly recommend!

This is the best meal I have ever had in my 40 years of life on this planet. Vincent really took care of us, as did our server Malia and even Abigail. The little touches made all of the difference. We came for my friend’s birthday and were greeted with sparkling wine. I highly recommend literally any dish but especially the Lobster cavatelli (generous portions of lobster), the scallops, and any dessert with granita. For cocktails, we loved the pear basil martini and the white Negroni.

So the place it beautiful and the set up is very nice. We went here to make a decision about having a big group here on a later date. Food was good , only issue I had was one piece of steak had an inedible piece in it. But besides that the place was very good. It was a little on the expensive side for the size of the party we are planning on having so we are going another way but would probably stop here for dinner another time.

Without a doubt, The Luke Brasserie is one of the best fine dining experiences in New Haven. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance, the welcome drink, attention to detail, and warm service set the tone for an exceptional evening.

Our server, Iris, went above and beyond. Attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. Her recommendations were spot on and truly elevated our dining experience.

Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The hamachi crudo was delicate and refreshing, a perfect start. The scallops were seared to perfection, tender, flavorful, and artfully plated. The catch of the day fish was flaky and fresh, paired with just the right accompaniments to let the ingredients shine.

As a generous gesture, they served asparagus and dessert on the house, which was such a lovely surprise and a testament to their hospitality. And let’s not forget the Negroni, absolutely spot on.

The Luke Brasserie is a gem in the heart of New Haven. If you’re looking for top-notch food, impeccable service, and a memorable evening, this place is a must. We’ll definitely be back!

Relaxing experience. We were greeted with a glass of champagne, then brought to our seats. We had drinks & dinner before an art exhibit on a weeknight. The food was sooo good & meant to be shared, which is perfect because I love nothing more than trying a little bit of everything. We even had a salad course brought on the house for us, the beets were amazing! I was so full leaving, but can’t wait to bring some friends back in. We live a bit of a drive away, but there’s always a reason to head into the city.

We celebrated our 14th anniversary here and truly could not have asked for a more memorable evening. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with two glasses of champagne, which immediately set the tone for a special night. Chef V personally greeted us and seated us at the best table in the house, overlooking the entire restaurant, such a thoughtful and generous touch.

Chef V also took the time to personally serve our first appetizer, which made us feel incredibly valued. The service and attention to detail throughout the evening were outstanding, and we were genuinely flattered and grateful for the effort he made to make our anniversary special.

The entire service team was exceptional. Abigail, our main server, was polite, poised, and offered wonderful recommendations. Eli also waited on us and brought such a pleasant and fun energy to the experience. Our drinks were perfectly crafted all night.

Truly an amazing evening from start to finish. We can’t wait to return.
